Qualifications

• Minimum 2+ years of experience as Crane Lifting Supervisor or similar role.
• Valid Crane Supervisor or Mobile Crane Operator certification.
• Knowledge of crane operations, rigging techniques and lifting equipment.
• Strong knowledge of Malaysian health and safety regulations for crane operations.

About the role

Yu Tong Construction Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced Crane Lifting Supervisor to join our construction team in Penang. This is a pivotal supervisory position responsible for overseeing all crane lifting operations on site, ensuring safety, efficiency and compliance with all relevant regulations. As Crane Lifting Supervisor, you will play a critical role in coordinating complex lifting operations, managing crane teams, and maintaining the highest standards of safety and workmanship. This role requires strong leadership capabilities, technical expertise and a commitment to delivering projects on time and within budget.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate all crane lifting operations on construction sites, ensuring smooth execution of lifting plans
• Conduct pre-operational inspections of cranes and related equipment to verify safety and operational readiness
• Develop and implement comprehensive lifting plans in collaboration with project managers and engineers
• Manage and supervise crane operators, riggers, and ground personnel to ensure safe and efficient operations
• Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, industry standards and company policies
• Conduct daily toolbox talks and safety briefings with the lifting team
• Monitor load weights, rigging equipment and positioning to prevent accidents and operational failures
• Maintain detailed records of lifting operations, inspections and any incidents or near-misses
• Communicate effectively with site management, engineers and other departments to coordinate lifting schedules
• Identify and implement improvements to lifting procedures and operational efficiency
• Respond promptly to any safety concerns or equipment issues that may arise during operations

What we're looking for

• Minimum 2+ years of experience as a Crane Lifting Supervisor or similar supervisory role in construction
• Valid Crane Supervisor or Mobile Crane Operator certification from a recognised authority
• In-depth knowledge of crane operations, rigging techniques, and lifting equipment
• Strong understanding of Malaysian health and safety regulations, particularly those governing crane operations
• Excellent leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and guide teams
• Proven track record of maintaining safety standards and zero-incident records
• Sound technical knowledge of load calculations, rigging safety factors and equipment limitations
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, lifting plans and technical specifications
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to liaise with multiple stakeholders
• Physical fitness and ability to work at heights and in challenging site conditions
• Problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure
• Familiarity with lifting software or digital documentation systems is advantageous
• Current First Aid certification or willingness to obtain it
