Job summary

S.E.S CONSTRUCTION SDN. BHD. in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, is seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor to manage project costs from inception to completion.

You will prepare cost estimates, monitor budgets, analyse tender documents, conduct site measurements, and liaise with clients and engineers to ensure contracts are delivered on time and within budget.

Applicants should have a degree or diploma in QS or Construction Management, 3–5 years' experience, and knowledge of Malaysian standards.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or related discipline.
• Professional membership or registration with a recognised surveying body preferred.
• 3–5 years of practical experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry.
• Strong knowledge of construction contracts, procurement practices and cost management.
• Proficiency in quantity surveying software and MS Office applications.
• Excellent analytical and numerical skills with meticulous attention to detail.
• Strong communication and negotiation abilities with multiple stakeholders.
• Sound understanding of Malaysian construction standards and building regulations.

Responsibilities

• Preparing accurate cost estimates and bills of quantities for construction projects.
• Monitoring project expenditure and managing budgets to ensure financial viability.
• Analysing tender documents and preparing comparative cost reports.
• Conducting site inspections and measurements to verify progress against contracts.
• Managing variation orders and contract claims documentation.
• Liaising with clients, contractors, architects and engineers to resolve cost issues.
• Preparing financial reports and cost forecasts for stakeholders.
• Ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and industry regulations.
• Maintaining accurate project records and documentation throughout the lifecycle.
