Job summary

S.E.S CONSTRUCTION SDN. BHD. in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, is seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor to manage project costs from inception to completion.

You will prepare cost estimates, monitor budgets, analyse tender documents, conduct site measurements, and liaise with clients and engineers to ensure contracts are delivered on time and within budget.

Applicants should have a degree or diploma in QS or Construction Management, 3–5 years' experience, and knowledge of Malaysian standards.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or related discipline.
• Professional membership or registration with a recognised surveying body preferred.
• 3–5 years of practical experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry.
• Strong knowledge of construction contracts, procurement practices and cost management.
• Proficiency in quantity surveying software and MS Office applications.
• Excellent analytical and numerical skills with meticulous attention to detail.
• Strong communication and negotiation abilities with multiple stakeholders.
• Sound understanding of Malaysian construction standards and building regulations.

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Quantity Surveyor to join S.E.S CONSTRUCTION SDN. BHD. in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in the success of our construction projects. As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing project costs, budgets, and financial aspects of construction projects from inception through to completion. This role is integral to ensuring our projects are delivered on time and within budget, whilst maintaining the highest standards of quality and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Preparing accurate cost estimates and bills of quantities for construction projects
• Monitoring project expenditure and managing budgets to ensure projects remain financially viable
• Analysing tender documents and preparing comparative reports for cost evaluation
• Conducting site inspections and measurements to verify progress against contract specifications
• Managing variation orders and contract claims documentation
• Liaising with clients, contractors, architects and engineers to resolve cost and contract-related issues
• Preparing financial reports and cost forecasts for project stakeholders
• Ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and industry regulations
• Maintaining accurate project records and documentation throughout the construction lifecycle

What we’re looking for

• A relevant degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or a related discipline
• Professional membership or registration with a recognised surveying body (preferred)
• Minimum 3-5 years of practical experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry
• Strong knowledge of construction contracts, procurement practices and cost management principles
• Proficiency in quantity surveying software and Microsoft Office applications
• Excellent analytical and numerical skills with meticulous attention to detail
• Strong communication and negotiation abilities to work effectively with multiple stakeholders
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
• Sound understanding of Malaysian construction standards and building regulations
• Valid driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites as required
