Job summary

HSS ENGINEERING SDN BHD is seeking a Construction Manager for a challenging marine infrastructure project in Penang. You will oversee site construction activities, ensure progress, and coordinate with contractors, consultants, clients and other stakeholders to meet project requirements.

You will supervise Marine Spun Piling works, manage contract administration tasks, monitor safety and quality, and ensure proper project documentation.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related discipline.
• Proven marine construction experience, especially Marine Spun Piling Works.
• Strong knowledge of Contract Administration.
• Strong project management, site supervision and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to monitor progress and coordinate multiple stakeholders.
• Good understanding of construction processes and project documentation.
• PE registration with BEM is an advantage; non-PE with relevant marine experience will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day construction activities at the project site.
• Supervise Marine Spun Piling Works and monitor marine construction activities.
• Track progress against the approved programme to ensure timely completion.
• Verify completed works and ensure conformity with specifications.
• Coordinate contractors, consultants, clients and other stakeholders.
• Handle Contract Administration matters including Interim Payment, NCR, VO, EOT, CPC.
• Identify site issues and implement timely resolution to minimise delays.
• Ensure safety, quality and project requirements are met.
• Prepare and review site and project documentation.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Construction Manager to join our team for a challenging marine infrastructure project involving the repair and rebuilding of a collapsed Liquid Bulk Terminal (LBT). The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing site construction activities, ensuring project progress, coordinating with relevant parties, and maintaining compliance with project requirements.

Key responsibilities

Oversee and manage day-to-day construction activities at the project site.

Supervise and monitor marine construction works, particularly Marine Spun Piling Works.

Monitor project progress against the approved programme and ensure timely completion.

Verify completed works and ensure that construction activities are carried out according to project specifications and requirements.

Manage and coordinate with contractors, consultants, clients, and other project stakeholders.

Handle and monitor Contract Administration matters, including Interim Payment, NCR, Variation Order (VO), Extension of Time (EOT), and Certificate of Practical Completion (CPC).

Identify and resolve site issues effectively to minimise delays and disruptions.

Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and project requirements.

Prepare and review relevant site and project documentation.

About you

Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.

Proven experience in marine construction works, particularly Marine Spun Piling Works.

Strong knowledge and hands-on experience in Contract Administration.

Strong project management, site supervision, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to monitor project progress and coordinate multiple stakeholders effectively.

Good understanding of construction processes, site requirements, and project documentation.

Registered Professional Engineer (PE) with BEM is an advantage

Candidates who are not PE but possess strong and relevant marine construction experience will also be considered.
