Job summary

See Yong & Son Construction Sdn Bhd S(YS) is seeking an experienced Assistant Project Manager to lead marine and civil engineering projects, including dredging, port construction, breakwaters, reclamation, and coastal structures. You will oversee a multi-disciplinary team to deliver high-value projects safely, on time, and within budget.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Marine Engineering.
• Minimum 3 years as project manager in marine works and 10 years in construction.
• Proven track record on port, jetty, dredging, reclamation or offshore projects.
• Familiarity with international standards (FIDIC, ISO, HSE).
• Proficient in Primavera P6 and MS Project.
• PMP certification preferred.
• Excellent leadership, problem-solving and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead civil/marine/dredging projects from pre-construction to completion.
• Coordinate with design teams, contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers.
• Ensure compliance with standards, safety, and environmental requirements.
• Develop schedules, budgets and resource plans.
• Monitor progress, quality, and stakeholder reporting.

• Manage all phases of civil/marine/dredging projects from pre-construction through completion.
• Coordinate with design teams, contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers.
• Ensure compliance with engineering standards, safety regulations, and environmental requirements.
• Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
• Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation plans.
• Monitor on-site progress, quality control, and reporting to stakeholders.
• Manage client relations and communication throughout the project lifecycle.
• Lead a multidisciplinary team to ensure performance, morale, and accountability.

• Proficient in project management software (Primavera P6, MS Project, etc.).
• PMP certification (preferred but not mandatory).
• Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
