Job summary

Radical Internetwork Sdn Bhd is seeking an Assistant Construction Manager to support the Construction Manager and Project Manager in overseeing day-to-day site activities. You will help ensure projects run safely, on time, and in line with specifications, quality requirements, and resource plans.

You will coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors and subcontractors, plan activities in advance, and manage procurement, reporting, and site resources to keep progress on schedule.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Construction Manager and Project Manager in planning, coordinating, and overseeing daily construction and site activities.
• Attend site coordination meetings with clients, consultants, contractors, subcontractors, and other project stakeholders.
• Liaise and coordinate with project stakeholders regarding project requirements, schedules, deliverables, and site-related matters.
• Plan and coordinate project activities at least one week in advance to ensure smooth project execution.
• Monitor, coordinate, and manage project tasks and deliverables to ensure work is completed according to the approved schedule and requirements.
• Track site progress and prepare weekly project progress reports for management and relevant stakeholders.
• Lead and coordinate Supervisors, Technicians, labourers, and subcontractors to ensure daily tasks are completed efficiently and according to project requirements.
• Provide clear instructions and guidance to site personnel and subcontractors regarding work activities, priorities, and schedules.
• Manage and monitor site equipment and material inventory to ensure sufficient resources are available for project activities.
• Prepare, manage, and follow up on Material Request Forms (MRF) and Purchase Request Forms (PRF) at least one (1) week in advance to ensure materials are available for planned activities.
• Obtain quotations for equipment and materials and assist in managing their procurement, utilisation, and allocation.
• Monitor the usage of project resources, including manpower, equipment, and materials, to ensure efficient utilisation.
• Prepare and update the Project Resource Management Plan on a weekly basis.
• Identify, monitor, and follow up on site issues to ensure timely resolution.
• Maintain and update the Project Issue Tracker and Risk Log for identified site issues and potential project risks.
• Coordinate and update relevant project documentation, including Shop Drawings, site records, and other project-related documents.
• Conduct administrative and coordination duties, including arranging meetings and maintaining proper project documentation.
• Update the Workers Skills Matrix on a monthly basis, where applicable.
• Ensure all site activities are carried out in accordance with approved drawings, project specifications, quality standards, safety requirements, and project schedules.
• Assist in resolving operational and construction-related issues to minimise delays and disruptions to project progress.
• Perform any other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Construction Manager or Project Manager from time to time.
