KIDE INTERNATIONAL SDN BHD in Kuala Lumpur seeks a Site/Civil & Structural Construction Manager to plan, coordinate and supervise all civil and structural activities on site, ensuring works follow approved drawings, specifications and method statements.
You will monitor progress against the project schedule, coordinate with consultants, contractors and suppliers, review shop drawings and method statements, identify issues and implement solutions while maintaining safety, quality and cost control
Plan, coordinate, and supervise all civil and structural construction activities on site.
Manage construction works in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, method statements, and project requirements.
Monitor project progress and ensure works are completed according to the approved programme.
Coordinate with consultants, contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and relevant stakeholders.
Review construction drawings, specifications, technical submissions, and work procedures.
Identify construction issues and implement appropriate solutions to minimise delays and disruptions.
Monitor manpower, materials, equipment, and resources required for construction activities.
Ensure proper coordination between civil, structural, architectural, M&E, and other project disciplines.
Supervise structural works including foundations, piling, reinforced concrete, steel structures, and related works.
Oversee civil works such as earthworks, drainage, roads, infrastructure, and external works where applicable.
Ensure construction activities comply with approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
Coordinate inspections, testing, and rectification of defective or non-conforming works.
Review and monitor technical submissions, shop drawings, method statements, and material approvals.
Work closely with consultants and site teams to resolve technical and construction-related matters.
Monitor daily and weekly construction progress against the project schedule.
Attend site meetings and provide updates on progress, delays, risks, and outstanding issues.
Assist in preparing construction programmes, work schedules, and recovery plans.
Identify potential delays and implement corrective and preventive measures.
Coordinate work sequencing to ensure efficient project execution.
Ensure construction activities comply with applicable Malaysian occupational safety and health requirements.
Promote and enforce safe working practices at the construction site.
Coordinate with the Safety and Health team to address site safety concerns.
Ensure contractors and subcontractors comply with project safety requirements and approved procedures.
Maintain proper site records, inspection reports, and construction documentation.
Monitor contractors' and subcontractors' performance against contractual requirements.
Assist in reviewing variations, claims, site instructions, and extension-of-time matters.
Monitor material usage, wastage, labour, and construction resources.
Support the Project Manager in cost control and commercial matters.
Ensure works are carried out in accordance with approved budgets and contractual requirements.
Prepare and review daily, weekly, and monthly construction progress reports.
Maintain proper records of site activities, inspections, drawings, approvals, and technical correspondence.
Coordinate with consultants and contractors regarding RFIs, technical submissions, and site instructions.
Ensure proper documentation for testing, commissioning, handover, and project close-out.
Lead and coordinate site engineers, supervisors, contractors, and subcontractors.
Provide technical guidance and support to the construction team.
Conduct regular site inspections and coordination meetings.
Maintain effective communication with clients, consultants, authorities, contractors, and internal departments.
Resolve site conflicts and construction issues professionally and efficiently.
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
Minimum 8 years of relevant construction experience, with substantial experience in civil and structural works.
Proven experience managing large-scale construction projects in Malaysia.
Strong knowledge of construction methods, structural works, civil works, project planning, and site management.
Familiarity with Malaysian construction standards, statutory requirements, and authority procedures.
Experience coordinating consultants, contractors, subcontractors, and project stakeholders.
Strong knowledge of construction drawings, specifications, method statements, and quality requirements.
Good knowledge of construction safety and health requirements.
Strong leadership, communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office; knowledge of AutoCAD, Primavera P6, MS Project, or other construction/project management software is an advantage.
Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.
Willing to be based at construction/project sites and travel when required.
Registration with the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) as a Professional Engineer (Ir.) is an advantage.
Membership with relevant professional bodies such as IEM is an advantage.
Relevant construction safety certifications are an advantage.
