Job description

This role involves setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC machines to produce precision parts according to technical drawings and specifications. You will be responsible for ensuring the quality of finished products and optimizing machine performance.

Key responsibilities

Set up, operate, and maintain CNC machines such as lathes and mills to perform various machining operations including cutting, drilling, and milling

Set up and calibrate machines, including selecting and installing cutting tools, adjusting machine parameters, and ensuring accurate workpiece positioning

Understand and edit CNC programs to control machine movements and operations

Interpret technical drawings and schematics to understand the dimensions and specifications of parts

Inspect parts during and after machining to ensure they meet required dimensions, tolerances, and surface finish specifications

Perform routine maintenance tasks on machines, such as lubricating moving parts, cleaning, and identifying potential issues

Identify and resolve minor malfunctions or errors during machine operation

Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area

Work with other team members to optimize production processes and resolve problems

About you

Ability to interpret and read engineering drawings and specifications

Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing system

Proficiency in setting up and operating CNC Turning/Auto Lathe/Lathe machines, CNC Machining Centre including programming and troubleshooting

Able to read and write G code and M code

Proficiency in using precision measuring tools and instruments

Strong understanding of machining processes, tooling, and fixturing

Strong problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude

Attention to detail and a commitment to quality

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Minimum 2 - 5 years working experience as a CNC Turning/Auto Lathe/Lathe, CNC machining centre technician in the precision machining industry
