Job summary

Kanry Search in Malaysia Sepang is seeking a CNC Machinist to set up, operate and monitor CNC machines for daily production. The role requires reading engineering drawings and tolerances, performing tooling adjustments, and ensuring parts meet specifications.

You will edit CNC programs, conduct trial runs, measure components with precision tools, and uphold safety and quality standards in a busy manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Certificate or Diploma in Mechanical, Machining or related field.
• 1–2 years CNC machining experience preferred.
• Ability to read engineering drawings.
• Experience with CNC setup and basic editing.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate and monitor CNC machines for daily production.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and tolerances.
• Perform CNC setup, tooling installation and parameter adjustments.
• Edit and troubleshoot CNC programs per production needs.
• Conduct trial runs and first-piece inspection before mass production.
• Measure components with vernier calipers, micrometers and gauges.
• Monitor quality and ensure parts meet drawings and standards.
• Troubleshoot machining issues to minimize downtime.
• Perform routine machine checks and basic preventive maintenance.
• Maintain production records and follow safety and quality procedures.

Job Responsibilities

Set up, operate and monitor CNC machines to support daily production requirements.

Read and interpret engineering drawings, machining specifications, dimensions and tolerances.

Perform CNC machine setup, including tooling installation, workpiece alignment and parameter adjustments.

Edit, adjust and troubleshoot CNC programs according to production requirements.

Conduct trial runs, first-piece inspection and necessary adjustments before mass production.

Measure machined components using precision measuring tools such as vernier calipers, micrometers and gauges.

Monitor machining quality and ensure finished parts meet drawing specifications and quality standards.

Troubleshoot basic machine, tooling and machining-related issues to minimise production downtime.

Perform routine machine checks and basic preventive maintenance activities.

Maintain production records and comply with safety and quality procedures.

Requirements

Certificate, SKM, Diploma or equivalent qualification in Mechanical, Machining, Manufacturing or related fields.

Minimum 1–2 years of hands-on CNC machining experience preferred.

Able to independently read and understand engineering drawings.

Experience in CNC machine setup, tooling adjustment and basic program editing.

Familiar with machining processes, cutting tools, tolerances and precision measuring instruments.

Experience with CNC Milling, CNC Turning or both will be an added advantage.

Able to troubleshoot machining issues and work independently.
