Job summary

GENIC TECHNOLOGY (MALAYSIA) SDN. BHD. is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist / CNC Engineer to set up and operate CNC milling machines, install tooling, and ensure first-piece accuracy according to drawings and tolerances.

You will support production runs, troubleshoot setup issues, and work with Fanuc or Mazak controllers. Candidates should have 5+ years in CNC machining, a relevant Diploma or Certificate, and a meticulous, safety‑minded approach.

Qualifications

• Certificate or Diploma in Machining, Manufacturing, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years' experience as CNC Machinist / CNC Engineer.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and tolerances.
• Familiar with CNC controllers (Fanuc / Mazak).

Responsibilities

• Set up CNC milling machines according to work instructions.
• Install tools, fixtures, and workpieces; set tool and work offsets.
• Perform first-piece machining and ensure dimensional accuracy.
• Adjust offsets and cutting parameters to maintain quality.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and basic GD&T.
• Perform in-process inspection using calipers, micrometers, gauges.
• Troubleshoot basic machining, tooling, and setup issues.
• Support CNC operators and guide them during production runs.
• Maintain machine cleanliness and follow 5S and safety procedures.

Job description

The CNC Machinist / CNC Engineer is responsible for setting up, operating, and supporting CNC machines to produce precision components according to engineering drawings and production requirements. This role focuses on machine setup, tooling, offsets, and first-piece accuracy, while also supporting daily machining operations on the shop floor.

Key responsibilities

• Set up CNC milling machines according to work instructions
• Install tools, fixtures, and workpieces; set tool and work offsets
• Perform first-piece machining and ensure dimensional accuracy
• Adjust offsets and cutting parameters to maintain quality and consistency
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and basic GD&T
• Perform in-process inspection using measuring instruments (caliper, micrometer, gauges)
• Troubleshoot basic machining, tooling, and setup issues
• Support CNC operators and guide them during production runs
• Maintain machine cleanliness and follow 5S and safety procedures

Job Requirements

• Certificate or Diploma in Machining, Manufacturing, or related field
• Minimum 5 years' experience as CNC Machinist / CNC Engineer
• Strong knowledge of CNC milling machine setup
• Familiar with CNC controllers (Fanuc / Mazak)
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and tolerances
• Experience machining aluminum, steel, stainless steel, or plastic.
• Willing to work shifts and overtime when required (MUST)
• Hands-on, detail-oriented, and quality-focused
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• Able to work independently and support team members
