Job summary

HORIZONTECH INDUSTRIES SDN BHD is seeking an experienced CNC Milling Machinist to join our Perai, Penang-based Engineering team. This on-site role requires operating and maintaining CNC milling machines to produce precision components that meet strict tolerances.

You will set up machines, read technical drawings, perform quality inspections and contribute to continuous improvement while upholding health and safety standards.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of hands-on CNC milling experience.
• Strong knowledge of CNC milling operations, programming, tool selection and setup.
• Experience reading drawings and GD&T.
• Ability to read CAM software and translate specs to machine operation.
• Attention to detail and maintaining tight tolerances.
• Good communication and teamwork for safety and continuous improvement.

About the role

HORIZONTECH INDUSTRIES SDN BHD is seeking an experienced CNC Milling Machinist to join our Engineering team in Perai, Penang. This is a full-time position based on-site at our facilities. As a CNC Milling Machinist, you will play a critical role in our manufacturing operations, utilising your expertise to produce precision components that meet our exacting quality standards. You will be responsible for operating and maintaining our CNC milling machines, ensuring optimal productivity and adherence to strict tolerances. This position is essential to our continued success in delivering high-quality machined parts to our clients across various industries.

Key responsibilities

• Operate CNC milling machines to produce precision components according to technical drawings and specifications


• Set up milling machines, including tool installation, workpiece positioning and programming adjustments


• Monitor machine operations and make real-time adjustments to ensure quality standards are consistently met


• Inspect finished components using precision measurement tools and verify conformance to dimensional tolerances


• Perform routine maintenance on CNC equipment, including cleaning, lubrication and basic troubleshooting


• Maintain accurate records of production runs, machine performance and any issues encountered


• Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to coordinate workflow and resolve operational challenges


• Adhere to all health and safety protocols and maintain a clean, organised work environment


• Continuously improve machining processes and contribute to efficiency and cost reduction initiatives

What we're looking for

• Proven experience as a CNC Milling Machinist or similar machining role, with a minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience


• In-depth knowledge of CNC milling operations, including programming, tool selection and machine setup


• Proficiency with precision measurement tools such as callipers, micrometres and dial indicators


• Strong understanding of technical drawings, blueprints and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)


• Ability to read and interpret CAM software and translate specifications into machine operations


• Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining tight tolerances and high-quality standards


• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to identify and rectify machining issues independently


• Good communication and teamwork abilities with a proactive approach to safety and continuous improvement


• Preferred: Knowledge of multiple CNC milling platforms and experience with tool offsetting and compensation techniques


• Preferred: Certification or qualification in CNC machining or related technical field
