Job summary

Genetec Technology Berhad seeks an experienced CNC Machining Team Leader to oversee daily operations, coordinate production, and ensure quality and on-time delivery. You will guide machinists, support setup and troubleshooting, and drive improvements in productivity and efficiency.

The role requires strong CNC knowledge, drawing interpretation, and hands-on expertise in machine setup, tooling, and operations. Lead by example and uphold ISO standards while mentoring junior staff.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years hands-on experience in CNC machining in manufacturing/precision environment.
• Experience as a CNC Team Leader or in a supervisory role preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and tolerances.
• Practical knowledge of CNC milling and/or turning, including machine setup and tool offsets.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and assign daily machining tasks to CNC machinists and operators based on production schedules.
• Monitor daily production progress, machine utilization, manpower allocation, and job completion status to meet targets and deadlines.
• Assist with complex machining setups, tooling arrangements, and process requirements.
• Assist with G-code interpretation, CNC program adjustments, and basic troubleshooting.
• Investigate defective parts, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with ISO requirements, procedures, work instructions, and company standards.
• Supervise and support CNC machinists and operators in daily activities.
• Provide hands-on training on machine setup, tool selection, offset adjustment, and safe operation.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced and hands-on CNC Machining Team Leader to oversee daily machining operations, coordinate production activities, and ensure that machined components meet the required quality standards and delivery schedules. The successful candidate will provide technical guidance to CNC machinists and operators, support machine setup and troubleshooting, and drive continuous improvement in productivity, quality, and operational efficiency.

This role requires strong technical knowledge of CNC machining processes, the ability to read engineering drawings, and practical experience in machine setup, tooling, and machining operations.

Key responsibilities

Plan, organize, and assign daily machining tasks to CNC machinists and machine operators based on production schedules and job priorities.

Monitor daily production progress, machine utilization, manpower allocation, and job completion status to ensure production targets and delivery deadlines are achieved.

Assist CNC machinists and operators with complex machining setups, tooling arrangements, and machining process requirements.

Assist with G-code interpretation, CNC program adjustments, and basic troubleshooting when necessary.

Investigate defective parts, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurring quality issues.

Ensure compliance with applicable ISO requirements, internal quality procedures, work instructions, and company standards.

Supervise, guide, and support CNC machinists and machine operators in their daily machining activities.

Provide hands-on training to junior CNC machinists on machine setup, tool selection, offset adjustment, machining procedures, and safe machine operation.

Ensure that all team members follow machine operating procedures, personal protective equipment requirements, and workplace safety regulations.

About you

Certificate, Diploma, or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Machining Technology, or a related technical field.

Approximately 2-3 years of hands-on experience in CNC machining, preferably in a manufacturing or precision machining environment.

Previous experience as a CNC Team Leader, Senior CNC Machinist, or in a supervisory role is preferred.

Practical knowledge of CNC milling and/or CNC turning operations, including machine setup, tooling, work offsets, and tool offsets.

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, dimensional tolerances, and machining specifications.

Proficient in using precision measuring instruments, including vernier calipers, micrometers, and other relevant inspection tools.

Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify machining issues and implement effective corrective actions.

Good leadership, communication, coordination, and time management skills.

Able to work independently while guiding and supporting junior machinists and machine operators.
