LAI Paediatric Surgery in Masai, Johor is seeking a Clinic Assistant to join our busy paediatric clinic on a full-time basis. You will support daily operations and help create a welcoming, organised environment for young patients and their families.

Key duties include greeting and registering patients, handling records with confidentiality, assisting with basic clinical tasks, preparing rooms, coordinating appointments, and supporting staff during consultations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; healthcare-related qualifications are advantageous.
• Experience in a clinical/medical or healthcare setting is preferred.
• Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks.

Responsibilities

• Greet and register patients, ensuring accurate completion of documentation.
• Manage patient files and medical records with confidentiality and organisation.
• Assist with basic clinical tasks such as taking vital signs, height and weight.
• Prepare treatment rooms and ensure supplies are available and sterilised.
• Support clinical staff during consultations and procedures as required.
• Schedule and confirm appointments, manage the clinic calendar and reduce no-shows.
• Handle patient enquiries and provide information about services and policies.
• Maintain a clean, hygienic, and welcoming clinic environment.

About the role

We are seeking a Clinic Assistant to join our team at our Masai Johor location on a full-time basis. In this role, you will be the backbone of our clinic operations, providing essential support to ensure smooth daily functioning and excellent patient experiences. As a Clinic Assistant, you will play a vital role in maintaining an efficient, welcoming, and organised clinical environment for our paediatric patients and their families. This position requires someone who is organised, compassionate, and committed to supporting quality healthcare delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Greeting and registering patients upon arrival at the clinic, ensuring accurate completion of all necessary documentation
• Managing patient files and medical records, maintaining confidentiality and ensuring information is organised and readily accessible
• Assisting with basic clinical tasks such as taking vital signs, height and weight measurements, and recording patient information
• Preparing treatment rooms and ensuring all necessary medical supplies and equipment are available and properly sterilised
• Supporting clinical staff during consultations and procedures as required
• Scheduling and confirming patient appointments, managing clinic calendars and reducing missed appointments
• Handling patient enquiries and providing information about services, procedures, and clinic policies
• Maintaining a clean, hygienic, and welcoming clinic environment in accordance with health and safety standards
• Assisting with administrative tasks including data entry, filing, and general office organisation
• Supporting the coordination of patient referrals and follow-up care arrangements

What we're looking for

• High school diploma or equivalent qualification; healthcare-related qualifications or certifications are advantageous
• Previous experience working in a clinical, medical, or healthcare setting is preferred
• Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks
• Excellent communication skills and a compassionate, patient-centred approach
• Proficiency in basic computer skills and familiarity with medical record systems or clinic management software
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information with discretion
• Physical capability to perform the demands of the role, including standing for extended periods and lifting light items
• Flexibility and willingness to adapt to the changing needs of a busy clinical environment
• A commitment to infection control procedures and health and safety protocols
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
