Job summary

Coherent Corp. in Malaysia (Penang) seeks a payroll specialist to manage end-to-end payroll cycles, including China IIT and social contributions. You will maintain accurate employee data, generate payroll reports, and liaise with vendors and government authorities.

The role requires handling data reconciliations, supporting year-end activities, and contributing to process improvements in a global payroll environment. Mandarin/English skills are preferred.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Finance, Accounting, HR, or related field.
• 0–3 years of payroll or HR operations experience, preferably with China payroll.
• Basic understanding of payroll calculations & knowledge of China payroll.
• Experience with payroll systems such as ADP, SAP, UKG, GAIA.
• Fluent in English and Mandarin.

Responsibilities

• End-to-end payroll processing for monthly cycles and off-cycle runs.
• Handle IIT calculations, social contributions, and IIT filings (China-specific).
• Maintain payroll data in HR/payroll systems and prepare reports.
• Coordinate with payroll vendors and HR/Finance on inputs and reconciliations.
• Support internal/external audits and pursue process improvements.
