Job summary

SSI SCHAEFER is seeking a maintenance electrical lead to maintain the plant’s electrical installation and provide technical guidance to the team. You will support management to ensure workplace and equipment safety compliance with applicable standards and procedures, while coordinating with contractors and internal teams.

The role emphasizes high-tension electrical systems, preventive and corrective maintenance, and adherence to safety and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• High-tension (11kV) electrical works planning and preventive maintenance
• Operate, maintain and troubleshoot plant electrical facilities and equipment
• Perform high voltage switching and electrical system repairs
• Ensure compliance with Electrical Supply Act & Regulations
• Conduct electrical system audits and implement countermeasures and improvements
• Supervise maintenance contractors to meet quality and safety standards
• Enforce safety requirements during electrical maintenance
• Monitor day-to-day operations of the electrical section
• Assist in troubleshooting electrical equipment and breakdowns
• Ensure safe operation of high-tension power supply and standby generator

What this role entails:

To responsible for maintaining the overall electrical installation and maintenance of the plant. He is also responsible for providing technical guidance for the team on the facilities and assisting the management in ensuring the workplace/equipment safety comply with relevant standard regulations or procedures.

Principal Accountabilities:

• Responsible as high-tension (11kV) charge man. Prepare, plan, coordinate, implement & monitor the preventive, predictive, condition monitoring and breakdown maintenance of electrical supply & distribution, mechanical system and civil.
• Responsible for the operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of plant electrical facilities, machinery, and equipment to meet the statutory regulations, environment, and safety standards.
• Responsible to carry out high voltage switching of electrical system.
• To carry out troubleshooting and repairing works for electrical system.
• To comply with Suruhanjaya Tenaga of The Electrical Supply Act & Regulation.
• Responsible for conduct the electrical system audit. Plan, coordinate and implement the countermeasure and improvement activities.
• To supervise, check and confirm maintenance or repair works carried out by the maintenance contractors are done according to schedule, procedure, specification and agreed the quality standard.
• To enforce all the safety requirement while complying out all electrical maintenance works.
• To follow up and update on day-to-day operations of electrical section.
• To assist in troubleshooting of electrical equipment and to attend to electrical breakdown.
• To be overall responsible for the safety and proper operation of high-tension power supply and standby generator emergency power supply.
• Ability to liase with TNB and Suruhanjaya Tenaga, Jabatan Bomba and other regulatory governing bodies to ensure compliance for air compressor, hoist, fire-fighting diesel motor pump, etc.
• To perform any other duties as duly assigned by the Facility engineer or Maintenance and Facility manager.
