• Proficient with diagnostic tools and software for UPS systems.

Responsibilities

• Install and commission UPS systems within data centers.
• Perform routine maintenance, calibrations, and repairs on UPS systems.
• Troubleshoot UPS and PTU to minimize downtime.
• Maintain service records and ensure safety and manufacturer guidelines.
• Provide clients with reports on system status and recommendations.
• Attend customer sites on 24x7 on-call rotations.

Service Engineer - UPS (Contract) - Based in Johor

About the role

We are looking for a hands-on Service Engineer to support critical data center operations in Johor. This role covers installation, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of UPS systems, including UPS, STS, PTU, Battery solution and cooling. The ideal candidate is technically strong, customer-focused, and comfortable responding to mission‑critical environments.

Key responsibilities

Installation and commissioning of UPS system within data centers, ensuring proper setup, integration, and optimal performance.

Perform routine maintenance, calibrations, and repairs on UPS systems. Troubleshoot UPS system, PTU, resolving them quickly to minimize downtime.

Complete planned and unscheduled maintenance on the Schneider Electric product range.

Maintain accurate service records, ensuring all work complies with safety regulations and manufacturer guidelines. Provide clients with clear reports on system status and recommended actions.

Build and maintain client relationships by providing expert advice on system optimization, cooling loads, and thermal management to ensure peak operational performance.

Ensure all service work adheres to safety standards, regulations, and best practices, creating a safe work environment at all times.

Respond promptly to emergency breakdowns, prioritize repairs, and restore cooling systems swiftly to minimize disruptions to critical data center operations.

Attend customer sites at short notice to perform diagnosis and repairs as part of 24x7 on‑call responsibilities.

About you

Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Electronic Engineering or related field (preferred).

Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in UPS field services, with a focus on data centers or high‑performance environments.

In‑depth knowledge of UPS, electrical systems, PTU systems and mechanical troubleshooting techniques.

Prior experience on UPS and Cooling in Data Centre will be a strong advantage.

Proficient in the use of diagnostic tools and software for UPS systems.

Familiar with all aspects of the power system.

Able to communicate (speak and hear) with the ability to interact professionally with clients, vendors, and cross‑functional teams.

Strong attention to detail, problem‑solving skills, and the ability to manage time effectively.

Must be willing to be based in Johor Bahru.

Open to work under a 1‑year contract, subject to renewal
