Job summary

Classic Green Engineering Sdn Bhd is seeking a Buyer to join our Johor Bahru team. This full-time position supports our construction and contracts management operations by sourcing, procuring, and managing materials and services essential to projects.

The role emphasizes cost efficiency, quality standards, and timely delivery, with opportunities for professional development within the procurement field and a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications

• Experience as Buyer/Procurement Officer or similar in construction/contracts management.
• Knowledge of construction materials and services procurement.
• Excellent negotiation and supplier relationship skills.
• Proficient with procurement systems and MS Office.
• Understanding of contract management principles and regulations.
• Analytical with ability to identify value-for-money opportunities.
• Detail-oriented with strong organisational skills to manage multiple POs.
• Effective communication with internal stakeholders and vendors.
• Knowledge of Malaysia procurement standards is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Identify and evaluate suppliers to ensure competitive pricing and quality.
• Prepare purchase orders and specifications per project requirements.
• Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers for best value and delivery schedules.

About the role

Classic Green Engineering Sdn Bhd is seeking a Buyer to join our team in Johor Bahru, Johor. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in supporting our construction and contracts management operations. As a Buyer, you will be responsible for sourcing, procuring, and managing materials and services that are essential to the successful delivery of our projects. This role is integral to ensuring cost efficiency, quality standards, and timely project completion across our organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Identifying and evaluating suppliers and vendors to ensure competitive pricing and quality standards
• Preparing detailed purchase orders and specifications in accordance with project requirements and company policies
• Negotiating contracts and terms with suppliers to achieve optimal value and delivery schedules
• Monitoring supplier performance and maintaining strong vendor relationships to ensure reliability and accountability
• Tracking inventory levels and coordinating with project managers to ensure timely material deliveries
• Comparing quotations from multiple suppliers and conducting cost-benefit analyses
• Processing and managing purchase requisitions from various departments
• Maintaining accurate procurement records and documentation for audit purposes
• Liaising with finance and project teams to ensure compliance with budgets and procurement schedules
• Identifying opportunities for cost savings and process improvements in procurement operations

What we're looking for

• Proven experience as a Buyer, Procurement Officer, or similar role within the construction or contracts management industry
• Strong knowledge of construction materials, equipment, and services procurement practices
• Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain effective supplier relationships
• Proficiency in procurement systems and Microsoft Office applications
• Sound understanding of contract management principles and procurement regulations
• Strong analytical and cost management skills with the ability to identify value-for-money opportunities
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple purchase orders simultaneously
• Ability to communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and external vendors
• A relevant qualification in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, or Business Administration is preferred
• Knowledge of local construction industry standards and supplier networks in Malaysia is advantageous
