Job summary

W&Y Construction (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. is seeking an experienced Senior Procurement Executive to join our Kuala Lumpur team on a full-time basis. The role focuses on sourcing, negotiating and managing supplier relationships to secure best value while maintaining project timelines and quality.

You will develop procurement strategies, coordinate with project teams, and drive cost efficiency across multiple concurrent construction projects. Strong English and Cantonese communication is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2-4 years of procurement experience, preferably within the construction industry.
• Proven track record of supplier management and contract negotiation.
• Fluency in English and Cantonese is required or advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement procurement strategies and policies aligned with project requirements.
• Source, evaluate and select suppliers based on quality, cost, reliability and delivery.
• Manage end-to-end procurement including requisition, tendering, quotation analysis and PO management.
• Build strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure continuity of supply.
• Monitor supplier performance and ensure compliance with contracts and quality requirements.
• Coordinate with project managers, site teams and finance to ensure timely procurement of materials and services.
• Manage procurement budgets and cost controls to optimise spending.
• Oversee inventory management and material logistics for efficient delivery.

About the role We are seeking an experienced Senior Procurement Executive to join our team in Kuala Lumpur on a full-time basis. This is a strategic position that plays a critical role in managing the procurement function for our construction projects and operations. You will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating and managing relationships with suppliers and vendors, ensuring we obtain the best value for money whilst maintaining quality standards and project timelines. Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive procurement strategies and policies that align with project requirements and company objectives
• Source, evaluate and select suppliers and vendors based on quality, cost, reliability and delivery capabilities
• Manage the end-to-end procurement process including requisition, tendering, quotation analysis and purchase order management
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and vendors to ensure continuity of supply and support project needs
• Monitor supplier performance and conduct regular reviews to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and quality requirements
• Coordinate with project managers, site teams and finance to ensure timely procurement of materials and services
• Manage procurement budgets and cost controls to optimise spending without compromising quality
• Oversee inventory management and material logistics to ensure efficient project delivery
• Prepare procurement reports, forecasts and documentation as required by management and project stakeholders
• Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations and relevant procurement standards
• Support tender and quotation exercises, including coordination of drawings, specifications, material requirements, and commercial information.

What we’re looking for

• Minimum 2-4 years of procurement experience, preferably within the construction industry
• Proven track record of successful supplier management and contract negotiation in a construction environment
• Strong knowledge of construction materials, equipment and services procurement practices
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills with the ability to build effective relationships at all levels
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
• Solid understanding of supply chain management and logistics principles
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work effectively under pressure
• Professional qualification in procurement, supply chain management or related field is advantageous
• Fluency in English, Cantonese
