BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER - Automation Transformation
BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER - Automation Transformation (Intralogistics - AGV, AMR, Shuttle System)
Location: Malaysia, with regular collaboration with SG HQ
Reporting Manager: SG VP Commercial (Direct), MY General Manager (Dotted Line)
Role Mission
Malaysia is X2's next market and this role is responsible for opening it.
There is no established customer base or pipeline in Malaysia at present, so account selection and territory planning sit with you. Singapore provides product, pricing, technical and strategic support, and access to our existing partner relationships.
By the end of your first year you will have closed our first Malaysian customers and built a pipeline from partnerships, referrals and your own outbound.
Key Responsibilities
- Close new business with Malaysian clients and grow the accounts you win, converting proven deployments into larger scale projects. You carry the revenue number for the market and this is the core of the role.
- Build and nurture partnerships, recruiting new system integrators, dealers and technology partners while deepening the relationships we already hold. Work their accounts alongside them, give their teams the product and commercial knowledge to spot the right opportunities, and convert that access into referred pipeline.
- Generate pipeline through our group companies, working closely with Goldbell and other group businesses to surface opportunities within their existing customer relationships.
- Build your own pipeline through direct outbound into target accounts, reading signals in the market to decide who is worth approaching and when.
- Run discovery site visits on client premises to understand operational flow, constraints and what benefits our automation would unlock.
- Build the value proposition for each opportunity, translating your findings and insights into a commercial case the customer's decision makers will accept.
- Work with the X2 Solutions team ensuring successful project deployments across all Malaysian clients.
- Work closely with HQ leadership on identifying key customer segments and suitable automation solutions tailored to each segment.
- Maintain accurate CRM records and forecasts, keeping opportunity stages, close dates and values current ensuring that HQ has real visibility of the Malaysian pipeline.
- Represent X2 in the Malaysian market at industry events, association meetings and customer sites, building up our name within the market.
How Success is Measured
- Revenue closed in Malaysia, covering both new customers and expansion within existing accounts. This is your primary metric.
- Qualified pipeline generated, tracked separately across partnerships, referrals and outbound
- Number of active partners contributing pipeline
- Win rate on qualified opportunities
- Forecast accuracy and CRM discipline
