Job summary

CJ Century Logistics Sdn Bhd in Penang is seeking a Business Development Executive to identify and secure profitable new business, aligning with sales targets and KPIs. You will develop strategic business plans, manage RFQ responses, and build lasting relationships with customers and potential clients.

The role requires a proactive hunter with logistics experience, strong planning and collaborative skills. Experience in air/ocean/road freight and contract logistics is a plus; we offer

Responsibilities

• Identify, develop and secure new business that is profitable to meet the department's sales targets and KPIs.
• Develop and implement strategic business development plans to meet corporate goals.
• Manage and handle new RFQ requests and ensuring that the RFQs' are responded and followed through in a timely manner.
• Develop and maintain close business relationships and rapport with customers and potential customers.
• Negotiate for contracts and coordinate all related activities to ensure completion of projects.
• Undertake cross selling within existing customer base to further develop account potential through airfreight, sea freight, road freight, value added products and contract logistics.
• Undertake sales presentations to customers and business communities to present to the company and its products and services.

Job description

Identify, develop and secure new business that is profitable to meet the department's sales targets and key performance indicators.

Develop and implement strategic business development plans to meet corporate goals.

Manage and handle new RFQ requests and ensuring that the RFQs' are responded and followed through in a timely manner.

Develop and maintain close business relationship and rapport with customers and potential customers.

Maintain close working relationships will divisions and departments within the group.

Negotiate for contracts and co-ordinate all related activities to ensure the completion of these projects.

Undertake cross selling within existing customer base to further develop account potential through airfreight, sea freight, road freight, value added products and contract logistics.

Undertake sales presentations to customers and business communities to present to the company and its products and services.

Responsible for effective management and planning of a project through working together with various departments in resource allocation and scheduling, project accounting and control, safety and compliance control and quality standard.

About you

Minimum Diploma/Degree in any discipline.

Minimum 1 - 3 year in in logistics, supply chain management or FMGC environment.

Good track records in securing and developing key customers accounts.

Good hunter with the relevant established network and clientele.

Good planning, problem-solving, collaboration, decision making, and organization skills.
