Qualifications

About the role

Ong Brothers Petroleum Sdn Bhd is seeking a talented and ambitious Business Development Executive/Manager based in Johor/Penang. This is a full-time position that offers a strategic opportunity to drive growth and expand our market presence within the petroleum industry. As a Business Development Executive/Manager, you will be instrumental in identifying new business opportunities, establishing partnerships, and developing revenue streams that contribute to the company's expansion objectives. This role combines relationship building, market analysis, and strategic planning to unlock growth potential in our sector.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, research, and evaluate new business opportunities and potential markets within the petroleum and related industries
• Develop and implement comprehensive business development strategies to achieve sales targets and revenue goals
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, partners, and stakeholders across the region
• Conduct market analysis to understand industry trends, competitor activity, and emerging opportunities
• Prepare proposals, presentations, and business pitches to prospective clients and business partners
• Negotiate and close commercial agreements and contracts to secure new business
• Collaborate with internal teams including sales, operations, and management to ensure successful project delivery and client satisfaction
• Monitor and report on business development activities, pipeline progress, and key performance metrics
• Manage account relationships and identify opportunities for account expansion and cross‑selling
• Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and networking functions

What we’re looking for

• Minimum 3 years of professional experience in a sales or business development role for managers, 0-2 years for executives.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with diverse stakeholders
• Demonstrated ability to identify opportunities, develop strategies, and achieve business targets
• Strong negotiation and closing skills
• Self‑motivated and target‑driven with a passion for achieving ambitious goals
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and customer relationship management (CRM) systems
• Willingness to travel as required for business development activities
• Diploma or Degree
• Knowledge of the Malaysian petroleum industry and local market conditions is advantageous
