• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• 3-5 years of relevant experience in business development, tendering or engineering within construction, infrastructure or engineering.
• Experience in repair & strengthening, post-tensioning, cable-stayed structures or other specialised construction works will be an added advantage.

Responsible for creating, maintaining and making business decisions.

Planning possible business plan to grow company business.

Identify areas of client needs.

Manage and participate actively in business negotiations.

Conduct research and locate business prospects.

Establish relationships that fill business pipeline with prospective partners and customers.

Negotiate new partnerships and business alliances; work closely with legal experts to write new contracts for new business partners.

Create business development strategies; identify obstacles and prepare actions to be taken.

Transfer of Technology from VSL’s International know-how and expertise to local office team.

Ensure staff understand the commercial strategy of the company, understand the required changes to be made and implement them.

Train members of the Business Development and Tender team, arranging external training when appropriate.

Budget estimation and budget built up for the proposed construction.

Initial project planning in order to minimize disruption while working on a live-plant.

Project coordinator and Management during the actual work on site to ensure timely successful completion of project within budget.

Calculating client quotations and administering client accounts.

Meet challenge (operation) of critical project construction from conceptual to design, then to construction.

Provide customized technical and commercial proposal for repair & strengthening clients.

Implement, monitor and recommend for continuous improvement for ISO 9001, ISO 14001 & ISO 45001 procedures.

Other ad-hoc duties as instructed by Management.

Qualifications & Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.

3-5 years of relevant experience in business development, tendering or engineering within the construction, infrastructure or engineering industry.

Experience in repair & strengthening, post-tensioning, cable-stayed structures or other specialised construction works will be an added advantage.

Strong business development, negotiation, presentation and client relationship management skills.

Able to identify new business opportunities, develop client relationships and build a sustainable business pipeline.

Able to understand and communicate technical solutions to clients and business partners.

Good commercial awareness with the ability to evaluate project opportunities, costs, risks and potential returns.

Good command of English, both written and spoken. Knowledge of Bahasa Malaysia and/or other languages will be an advantage.

Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

Willingness to travel to project sites and meet clients/business partners as required.
