Our client "Exyte Malaysia" is seeking a BIM Coordinator to join their team! This opportunity offers a salary of RM6,000–RM9,000 and is based in Cyberjaya, Selangor, supporting a major hyperscale data centre design and build project. The role offers the chance to coordinate multidisciplinary BIM activities across design, engineering, construction and commissioning teams while contributing to digital construction delivery.
What you'll be doing?
- Coordinate BIM activities: Manage coordination across architectural, structural, civil, MEP, ELV, fire protection, security and specialist disciplines.
- Manage federated models: Review and maintain coordinated BIM models in line with the BIM Execution Plan, Employer's Information Requirements and project standards.
- Lead clash detection: Identify design conflicts, spatial constraints and constructability issues, then coordinate resolutions with relevant teams.
- Maintain model quality: Review model accuracy, naming conventions, parameters, classification, coordinates, LOD and information requirements.
- Coordinate complex systems: Support the coordination of electrical, mechanical, cooling, fire protection, ELV and other building services.
- Manage design interfaces: Coordinate requirements between consultants, contractors, subcontractors, specialist vendors and project teams.
- Support constructability: Identify potential installation, access, maintenance and sequencing issues through BIM coordination.
- Track technical issues: Monitor BIM-related RFIs, technical queries, clashes and coordination matters through to closure.
- Support construction teams: Assist with site coordination, installation issues, shop drawings and coordinated construction documentation.
- Update project models: Participate in site surveys, verification activities and the preparation of record and as-built models.
- Manage BIM information: Maintain models and project information within the Common Data Environment and support controlled data exchanges.
- Monitor deliverables: Track BIM submissions against project milestones and provide regular progress updates.
- Improve digital workflows: Contribute to better BIM coordination processes, standards, templates and digital construction practices.
Who are they looking for?
- Relevant qualification: A Degree, Diploma or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Architecture, Construction, Building Services, BIM or a related discipline.
- BIM coordination experience: Typically at least 5 years of BIM coordination experience on large-scale or technically complex projects.
- Relevant project background: Experience in MEP, industrial, pharmaceutical, semiconductor, data centre or similarly complex projects is preferred.
- Hyperscale exposure: Experience with hyperscale data centres or mission-critical facilities is highly advantageous.
- Clash detection expertise: Strong experience in multidisciplinary BIM coordination and clash detection.
- Construction knowledge: Practical understanding of construction methodology, MEP systems and building services coordination.
- Stakeholder management: Experience working with consultants, contractors, specialist subcontractors and equipment vendors.
- BIM standards knowledge: Good understanding of BEP, LOD, model federation, CDE workflows and information management.
- Technical software skills: Strong working knowledge of Autodesk Revit, Navisworks Manage, Autodesk Construction Cloud or BIM 360, AutoCAD, Solibri or equivalent platforms.
- Industry experience: Experience in international EPC, design-and-build or engineering and construction environments is advantageous.
- Work schedule: Availability to work Monday to Friday, from 8:00am to 6:00pm, in Cyberjaya, Selangor.
