Job summary

Private Advertiser in Malaysia's Cyberjaya seeks an experienced BIM Engineer to lead data center BIM coordination from design through handover, with emphasis on MEP and electrical systems.

You will develop 3D models using Revit MEP, Navisworks, and coordinate multidisciplinary systems, ensuring BEP compliance and seamless delivery for commissioning and O&M handover.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Electrical/Mechanical/Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5–7 years in BIM modelling and coordination, 3+ years in data centers or mission-critical projects.

Job description

As an experienced BIM Engineer you will work on complete project life cycle from, user requirements specifications to create BIM design specifications, before taking part in execution, factory acceptance tests, site installation, commissioning, production of operation, preparing training manuals, and customer training. The role requires strong technical expertise in BIM modeling and coordination, with specific focus on MEP and electrical systems critical to mission-critical facilities. The successful candidate will act as the link between design teams, site execution, and project stakeholders, ensuring clash-free, constructible models and seamless delivery aligned with Tier III/Tier IV standards.

RESPONSIBILITY

BIM Coordination (Data Center Focus):

Develop, manage, and maintain 3D BIM models (Revit MEP, Navisworks) for data center electrical, mechanical, and architectural systems.

Coordinate multi-disciplinary models (LV/MV power, UPS, generators, cooling, fire suppression, containment).

Lead clash detection and resolution workshops with consultants, contractors, and vendors.

Manage and enforce the BIM Execution Plan (BEP), data drops, and workflows as per ISO19650.

Generate installation drawings, shop drawings, and as-built models from BIM deliverables

Collaborate with electrical and mechanical design engineers to ensure BIM models reflect design intent and technical accuracy.

Incorporate load calculations, cable routing, duct layouts, grounding, and containment pathways into coordinated models.

Translate design schematics into fully coordinated BIM models for construction execution.

Support development of commissioning documentation (test scripts, system integration reviews) through BIM.

Construction & Project Delivery:

Align BIM outputs with construction sequencing (4D BIM) and material take-offs (5D BIM).

Provide constructability reviews and resolve coordination issues before installation.

Support site teams by updating BIM models to reflect as-built conditions.

Participate in client and consultant review meetings, presenting BIM outputs for approval.

Ensure accurate BIM handover models with O&M data integration for facilities management.

Project Delivery & Support:

Drive end-to-end technical delivery, from requirements gathering to commissioning and handover.

Develop and review engineering documentation, method statements, and risk assessments.

Development, test, commissioning, operation and maintenance

Provide post-implementation support and ensure system performance meets business needs.

Quality & Standards:

Conduct regular model audits to maintain accuracy and compliance with project standards.

Implement consistent BIM protocols, naming conventions, and data structures.

Ensure compliance with Uptime Institute, TIA-942, NFPA, IEC, IEEE, and local authority requirements through BIM documentation.

Training & Knowledge Transfer:

Mentor junior engineers and project team members.

Conduct workshops and training sessions to build organizational capabilities in data center and manufacturing engineering.

Interface with all levels of external stakeholders for detailed planning and delivery of the project depending on the experience.

QUALIFICATIONS

Diploma / Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Engineering, Construction or related field.

Min 5 - 7 years experience in BIM modelling and coordination, with at least 3 years in datacenter or mission-critical projects.

Proficiency in Revit MEP, EPlan, AutoCAD MEP, Navisworks Manage, BIM 360, Dynamo(preferred).

Strong knowledge of data center electrical (UPS, switchgear, generators) and mechanical (CRAH/CRAC, chilled water, containment) systems.

Familiarity with Tier III/Tier IV standards and commissioning processes (FAT, SAT, IST).

Hands-on experience in construction phase BIM coordination and QA/QC workflows

Excellent organizational and time-management skills with attention to detail.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with internal teams, clients, and suppliers.
