Job summary

Private Advertiser in Penang seeks an experienced BIM Lead to drive design-to-construction delivery, ensuring quality and compliance across disciplines. You will guide BIM Coordinators and subcontractor teams, oversee 4D simulation and LOD deliveries, and ensure ISO 19650 alignment.

This full-time role requires 12+ years in BIM, with railway or infrastructure project exposure, and willingness to be stationed in Penang for the project duration.

Qualifications

• Minimum 12 years of BIM experience, including at least 8 years in construction delivery.
• Experience in railway, transit, or complex infrastructure projects is highly advantageous.
• Proven experience managing multidisciplinary BIM teams on large-scale projects.
• Strong leadership, communication, coordination, and stakeholder-management skills.
• Willing to be stationed full-time in Penang for the project duration.

Responsibilities

• Lead overall BIM delivery from detailed design through construction and handover, ensuring quality and compliance across all disciplines.
• Lead, mentor, and manage BIM Coordinators, Modellers, and subcontractor BIM teams.
• Oversee BIM coordination across civil, structural, track, OCS, signalling, SCADA, E&M, and MEP disciplines.
• Manage BIM coordination meetings, resolve clashes and non-conformances, and ensure timely corrective actions.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, and regulatory authorities on BIM-related matters.
• Develop, implement, and maintain the BIM Execution Plan (BEP) in line with EIR and project requirements.
• Manage CDE / Autodesk Forma Design Collaboration, including setup, access control, workflows, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
• Review and approve subcontractor BIM plans, model submissions, and compliance with BIM requirements.
• Establish BIM quality control, audit procedures, naming standards, submission requirements, and MPDT.
• Ensure models are properly federated, coordinated, clash-free, and compliant before RFI/IFC submission.
• Manage 4D construction simulation, LOD 300–500 delivery, and asset information handover.
• Ensure compliance with ISO 19650 and relevant Malaysian BIM standards, including CIDB, JKR, and MRT/LRT requirements.
• Oversee IFC/Open BIM, COBie, point cloud, survey, GIS, and AIM data integration where required.
• Monitor BIM performance, conduct audits, and drive continuous improvement across the supply chain.

BIM-related professional certification is preferred.

Strong leadership, communication, coordination, and stakeholder-management skills.

Willing to be stationed full-time in Penang for the project duration.
