Job summary

Bina Initiatives Sdn Bhd, based in Penang, seeks an experienced BIM Coordinator for a landmark railway project. You will lead cross-disciplinary BIM coordination, ensure BEP alignment, and drive model quality for civil, structural, MEP, track and systems work.

Six to eight years in BIM with at least five in construction is required, along with proficiency in Revit and Navisworks and comfort with on-site Penang deployment. Strong communication and 4D scheduling skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 6-8 years overall BIM experience, with at least 5 years in construction
• Experience in railway, rail systems, or transit infrastructure is a strong advantage
• Willing to be stationed in Penang for the duration of the project
• Familiarity with ISO 19650 standards and EIR/BEP workflows
• Experience coordinating multi-disciplinary models (Civil, Structural, MEP, Track, Systems)
• Understanding of railway-specific disciplines – OCS, signalling, SCADA, E&M systems
• Competent in clash detection workflows and RFI/NCR management via CDE
• Experience producing LOD 300–400 deliverables for infrastructure projects
• Ability to prepare and present BIM progress reports to clients and stakeholders
• Knowledge of IFC/Open BIM standards and COBie data requirements
• Familiar with survey data integration – point cloud, GIS, or as-built reconciliation
• Strong communication skills for cross-discipline and client-facing coordination
• Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field preferred

• Develop and implement BIM Execution Plan (BEP)
• Perform 4D construction simulations linked to BIM model
• Manage clash detection and RFI/NCR via CDE
• Prepare and present BIM progress reports to clients and stakeholders
• Ensure IFC/Open BIM and COBie data requirements are met
• Integrate survey data (point clouds, GIS) into BIM workflow

Job description

We are looking for an experienced BIM Coordinator to join our team for an exciting Railway Project based in Penang. If you thrive in fast-paced, technically demanding environments and want to be part of a landmark rail project, we want to hear from you.

Responsibilities:

Minimum 6 - 8 years of overall BIM experience, with at least 5 years in construction

Experience in railway, rail systems, or transit infrastructure is a strong advantage

Willing to be stationed in Penang for the duration of the project

Proficient in Autodesk authoring tools — Revit & Navisworks Manage

Proficient in CDE platforms — Autodesk Forma / Design Collaboration (setup, monitoring & troubleshooting)

Familiar with BIM Execution Plan (BEP) development and implementation

Proficient in 4D Construction Simulation (scheduling linked to BIM model)

Requirements:

Familiarity with ISO 19650 standards and EIR/BEP workflows
