Job summary

Whisky House Kuala Lumpur (Brilliant Consortium (KL) Sdn. Bhd.) is seeking an experienced Accounts & Finance Manager to lead the finance function for our bar.

You will own the monthly close, financial reporting, cash flow, payroll, tax and internal controls, while guiding junior staff and coordinating with management on budgeting and cost control. The role requires hands‑on experience with full‑set accounts, strong Excel and POS systems skills, and knowledge of Malaysian tax rules.

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting or Finance; professional qualification (ACCA, CIMA, CPA, MIA) or partial completion is an advantage.
• At least 4 years of accounting and finance experience; supervisory exposure is preferred.
• Experience in the F&B industry is strongly preferred; hospitality or cash‑intensive businesses are considered.
• Hands‑on experience with full‑set accounts, month‑end closing and payroll.
• Familiarity with SQL Accounting, POS systems and strong Excel skills.
• Good knowledge of Malaysian statutory and tax requirements (EPF, SOCSO, EIS, PCB, SST, corporate tax) with experience in tax planning.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to present financial information clearly to non‑finance management.
• Able to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
• Good command of English and Bahasa Malaysia; Mandarin is preferred.
• Honest, responsible and highly trustworthy with confidential information.

Responsibilities

• Lead the full month‑end closing process and deliver accurate management accounts on time.
• Prepare a monthly P&L with month‑on‑month comparison and % of net sales analysis, plus the balance sheet and supporting schedules.
• Review and approve journal entries, accruals, prepayments and the staff cost journal.
• Perform or review monthly bank reconciliations for all company bank accounts.
• Prepare variance analysis and explain key movements in sales, cost of sales, staff costs and operating expenses to management.
• Prepare annual budgets and forecasts, and track actual performance against budget.
• Manage cash flow, plan payments and monitor bank balances.
• Analyse margins, beverage cost %, wastage and outlet performance, and recommend cost‑saving actions.
• Oversee daily sales reconciliation between POS and cash, card settlements, e-wallets and other payment channels.
• Review refunds, voids, discounts, complimentary items and staff meals for proper approval and supporting documents.
