Job summary

JAST B TRADING in Kedah is seeking a Bakery Assistant to support daily bread and pastry production and to help with local Malaysian kuih.

You will assist with measuring, mixing, shaping, decorating, and preparing baked products, while maintaining a clean, organized kitchen and following food safety practices.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of bread and pastry production.
• Previous bakery or kitchen experience is an advantage.
• Willingness to learn and follow recipes.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparing and baking bread, pastries, local Malaysian kuih, and snacks.
• Help with measuring, mixing, shaping, portioning, decorating, and preparing baked products.
• Assist the baker with daily preparation and production.
• Prepare ingredients and ensure ingredients are stored properly.
• Keep the bakery and kitchen area, equipment, and workstations clean and organized.
• Wash and clean baking equipment, utensils, trays, and work areas.
• Follow proper food handling, hygiene, and safety practices.
• Help with packing, displaying, and storing finished products.
• Assist with stock checking and ingredient preparation.
• Perform other reasonable kitchen and bakery duties as required.

Requirements

Basic knowledge of bread and pastry preparation is preferred.

Previous bakery, pastry, or kitchen experience is an advantage.

Familiarity with Malaysian local kuih is a plus.

Willing to learn and follow recipes and preparation methods.

Able to work efficiently in a kitchen environment.

Responsible, punctual, clean, and organized.

Able to work independently and as part of a team.

Willing to perform general kitchen duties when required.

Food handling knowledge or certification is an advantage.
