Job summary

Jora Malaysia invites applications for a Production Supervisor role to assist the production manager in planning, organizing, and controlling all production activities. The ideal candidate holds a Diploma or equivalent and has at least 3 years in production, preferably in metal manufacturing.

You will supervise processes to meet KPI, quality and cost targets, help streamline operations, and train operators while maintaining safety and compliance with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards.

Qualifications

• Diploma or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum 3 years in production dept, preferably metal manufacturing.
• ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 training preferred.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Good command of English and Bahasa Malaysia; computer literate.

Responsibilities

• Assist production manager in planning, organizing, leading and controlling production activities.

• Streamline manufacturing processes to improve productivity, efficiency and cost efficiency.
• Plan and supervise production operations to meet schedules.
• Manpower planning to achieve labour efficiency.
• Provide technical assistance and troubleshooting to maintain continuous operations.
• Monitor daily production reports.
• QC of work in progress and coordinate with QA for quality requirements.
• Carry out 5S on the production floor.
• Train and evaluate operators; provide on-the-job training.
• Ensure compliance with company rules, policies and safety requirements.
• Motivate subordinates to maximize productivity.
• Perform ad-hoc tasks as assigned.

• Responsible to assist the production manager for establishment of planning, organizing, leading and controlling of all activities within the production functions.
• Supervise overall production processes to ensure the KPI, capacity, quality & cost of manufacturing and objectives are being achieved.
• Study and monitor in order to streamline manufacturing processes to improve productivity, efficiency, and cost effective.
• Plan and supervise production operations and ensure production schedule are met.
• Effective manpower planning to achieve labour efficiency and productivity.
• Provide technical assistance and troubleshooting in maintaining continuous operations.
• Monitor daily reporting, update and prepare production reports.
• Responsible for work in progress QC checking to ensure quality of final products is met. Work closely with QA to ensure product quality requirements are compliant and improve process control during manufacturing.
• Carry out 5S activities on production floor and ensure condition is in compliance to requirements set out by management.
• Train/evaluate new operators and provide upgrading training/on job training to existing operators to assure competency of specialized personnel are fully capable for the jobs.
• Ensure operators comply with company’s rules and regulations as well as policy and safety requirements.
• Motivate and encourage subordinates to achieve maximum productivity.
• Perform any ad-hoc action assigned by the Management.

REQUIREMENTS:

• 1. Education & Professional Qualification:
• Candidate must possess at least a Diploma or equivalent qualification.
• Possess a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in production department, preferably in metal industry and manufacturing.
• 2. Training Needs:
• Trained on the requirements of the ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 Standard, if preferred;
• Trained on the programs (if any) identified in the On-Job Training Program & Records.
• 3. Necessary Experience:
• Able to work independently and with minimum supervision and guidance.
• Positive attitude and able to work in a fast pace working environment.
• Good command of English, Bahasa Malaysia and computer literate.
