The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end manufacturing operations to ensure efficient production, high product quality, and safe working conditions. This role leads cross-functional teams including Production, Production Engineering, Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC), Safety & Health, and Maintenance to achieve operational excellence, cost efficiency, and continuous improvement.
In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
1.Production Management
- Plan, organize, and control daily production activities to meet output, quality, and delivery targets.
- Monitor production KPIs (OEE, productivity, scrap rate, downtime) and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure optimal utilization of manpower, machines, and materials.
- Coordinate with Supply Chain and Planning teams to align production schedules.
2.Production Engineering
- Oversee process design, optimization, and standardization.
- Lead new product introduction (NPI), process validation, and line setup.
- Improve production efficiency through automation and engineering solutions.
- Ensure proper documentation of SOPs, work instructions, and technical standards.
- Support troubleshooting of technical and process-related issues.
3.Quality Assurance & Quality Control (QA/QC)
- Ensure products meet internal and customer quality standards.
- Oversee incoming, in-process, and final inspection activities.
- Drive root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
- Maintain and improve Quality Management System (ISO or equivalent).
- Reduce defects, rework, and customer complaints.
4.Safety & Health
- Ensure compliance with local safety regulations and company policies.
- Promote a strong safety culture across all departments.
- Conduct risk assessments, safety audits, and incident investigations.
- Implement preventive measures and continuous safety improvements.
- Ensure proper use of PPE and safe work practices
5.Maintenance Management
- Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance programs.
- Ensure high equipment reliability and minimal downtime.
- Manage maintenance planning, spare parts control, and cost optimization.
- Lead troubleshooting of machine breakdowns.
- Support equipment upgrades and new machinery installation.
6.Leadership & Management
- Lead, coach, and develop a multidisciplinary team.
- Set clear performance goals and conduct regular performance reviews.
- Foster teamwork, accountability, and continuous learning.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Procurement, R&D and etc).
Skill & Other Special Requirements Required:
- 1.Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, or related field)
- 2.Minimum 8–10 years of experience in manufacturing, with at least 3–5 years in a managerial role.
- 3.Strong knowledge of production processes, quality systems, and maintenance practices.
- 4.Familiar with ERP systems.
- 5.Effective communicator with strong problem-solving, analytical skill and decision-making skills.
- 6.Good reading, listening and writing skills in Mandarin, English and Bahasa Malaysia.
- 7.Independent self-starter, able to interact with all levels of personnel.
