Private Advertiser is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to support the Senior/Project QS on the Pan Borneo Highway Project. You will prepare BQ, take-offs, measurements and cost estimates, and help evaluate tenders and subcontractor packages.
Based at project sites along the highway, you will liaise with consultants, subcontractors and suppliers, monitor subcontractor claims, variations and interim valuations, and maintain detailed commercial records to support timely project decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist the Senior/Project Quantity Surveyor in managing commercial and contractual matters for the Pan Borneo Highway Project.
Prepare and review Bills of Quantities (BQ), quantity take-offs, measurements and cost estimates.
Assist in the preparation and evaluation of tenders, quotations and subcontractor packages.
Monitor and evaluate subcontractor claims, progress payments and variations.
Assist in the preparation and submission of variation orders, interim valuations and final accounts.
Maintain proper records of project costs, contracts, claims and commercial documentation.
Conduct site measurements and verify work progress against drawings, specifications and site conditions.
Liaise with consultants, subcontractors, suppliers and project teams on QS and commercial matters.
Assist in identifying potential contractual and commercial risks and provide timely updates to the project team.
Perform other quantity surveying and commercial duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Diploma/Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or a related field.
1-3 years of relevant experience in quantity surveying, preferably in infrastructure, highway or civil engineering projects.
Experience in road/highway or large-scale infrastructure projects will be an added advantage.
Good knowledge of quantity measurement, cost control, variation and claims management.
Familiarity with construction contracts and standard forms of contract is an advantage.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
Good communication, negotiation and analytical skills.
Able to work independently and as part of a project team.
Willing to be based on project/site locations along the Pan Borneo Highway Project.
