KEMUNCAK PESAKA SDN BHD invites a Quantity Surveyor to join our Kuala Lumpur team on a contract basis. You will prepare cost plans, Bills of Quantities, review documents, and manage subcontractor pricing.

You will monitor budgets, produce cost reports, administer subcontract agreements, and liaise with clients and suppliers to ensure on-time delivery, value-for-money, and compliance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying or related field.
  • 2–3 years of relevant working experience.
  • Experience with PWD, PAM, and standard contract forms.
  • Skilled in build-up rates, take-off quantities, and cost analysis.
  • Willing to travel and work beyond normal hours when required.
  • Analytical, organized, and with good time management.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

About the role KEMUNCAK PESAKA SDN BHD is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join our team on a contract basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled surveying professional to contribute to our construction projects in Kuala Lumpur. As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a vital role in managing project costs, financial planning, and contract administration. Your expertise will be instrumental in ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and compliance.

Key responsibilities

Prepare cost estimates, Bills of Quantities (BQ), tender documents, and cost plans.

Review tender documents, specifications, and drawings for cost and contractual implications.

Evaluate quotations and negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain the most competitive pricing.

Prepare and administer subcontract agreements and other contract-related documents.

Monitor project costs, budgets, and expenditures to ensure effective cost control.

Prepare progress claims, payment certificates, variation orders (VO), and final accounts.

Assess and evaluate subcontractors' claims and recommend payments.

Monitor project progress and identify potential cost risks or budget overruns.

Prepare cost reports, cash flow forecasts, and commercial reports for management.

Liaise with clients, consultants, contractors, suppliers, and relevant authorities on commercial and contractual matters.

Ensure compliance with contractual terms, company policies, and statutory requirements.

Maintain proper documentation and records related to project costs and contracts.

Assist in contract administration, dispute resolution, and claims management where required.

Attend project meetings and provide commercial advice and recommendations.

Perform any other duties assigned by the superior from time to time.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.

Minimum 2-3 years of relevant working experience.

Experienced in reviewing and interpreting contractual issues, with solid knowledge of PWD, PAM, and other standard forms of contract.

Skilled in preparing build-up rates, proficient in taking-off quantities, and preparing detailed commercial and cost analysis.

Willing to travel and able to work beyond normal office hours when required, demonstrating strong dedication to project delivery.

Good analytical, organizational, and time management skills.

Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
