myNews is seeking a Senior/Executive Quantity Surveyor to support cost estimation, quantity take-off, and contract administration for store development, renovations, and facilities projects. You will prepare BQ, monitor budgets, and coordinate with contractors and suppliers under supervision.
You’ll perform site measurements, maintain cost data, and assist in tender packages, variation orders, and claims to ensure accurate, timely documentation in a fast-paced environment.
To support the Senior/Executive Quantity Surveyor and project teams in cost estimation, quantity take-off, contract administration, and procurement for the Group's store development, renovation, and facilities projects, ensuring accurate cost data, timely documentation, and effective site coordination under the guidance of senior QS personnel.
Key responsibilities
Perform quantity take-off and measurement of materials and works from drawings, specifications, and Bills of Quantities (BQ)
Assist in preparing Bills of Quantities (BQ) for tenders and contracts
Conduct site measurements to verify work completed against drawings and claims
Assist in preparing preliminary cost estimates and project budgets
Compile and maintain cost data, rates, and a price/cost library for reference
Support monitoring of project expenditure against approved budgets and flag variances
Assist in preparing, reviewing, and organizing contract documents and tender packages under supervision
Support the processing of variation orders, claims, and extensions of time
Assist in sourcing and comparing quotations from suppliers and subcontractors
Conduct site visits to verify project progress, quantities completed, and quality of work
Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Building Technology, or a related field.
Minimum 1–3 years of experience in Quantity Surveying, construction, or related roles.
Experience in quantity take-off, BQ preparation, cost estimation, and project costing.
Basic knowledge of tendering, contract documentation, variation orders, claims, and extensions of time.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
Good understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and Bills of Quantities (BQ).
Good analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
Strong attention to detail with good documentation and organizational skills.
Good communication and coordination skills with contractors, suppliers, and internal teams.
Willing to conduct site visits and work in a fast-paced project environment.
