Job summary

Geotechnical Alliance in Malaysia is seeking a Project Engineer to support the Project Manager on daily activities. This role involves real projects, trials, testing, and documentation rather than desk work.

You will conduct site inspections, coordinate with contractors, and ensure compliance with design requirements. The position requires 3+ years in construction, a civil engineering degree, and willingness to travel.

Qualifications

  • Diploma / Degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in construction or related field.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials and regulations.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities with effective communication.
  • Excellent interpersonal, leadership and management skills.
  • Possess own transport, willing to travel and to be relocated to various project sites.
  • Able to start immediately would be an added advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, identify potential risks and implementing preventive measures to minimise project delays and cost overruns.
  • To ensure compliance with engineering and design requirements.
  • Responsible for ensuring that works are executed efficiently, attending site meetings and reporting to Project Manager in charge of the respective projects.
  • Working closely with contractors, subcontractors or architects to ensuresmooth progress of the project within budgeted cost, timeframe without compromising on the quality standards.
  • Coordinate the procurement and delivery of construction materials, ensuring their compliance with industry standards.
  • Plans and monitors the work progress of the team for compliance with
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, including progress reports, site diaries, change orders and quality control measures.
  • To ensure minimal wastage at site and ensuring that housekeeping are regularly performed.
  • Take up any ad-hoc responsibilities assigned.

Requirements
