IJM Industry in Malaysia is seeking an Assistant Manager – Operations to support day-to-day operations and cross-functional coordination across departments. The role entails monitoring progress of operational activities, implementing management instructions, and ensuring timely updates to leadership.
The position targets individuals with strong project management background and exposure to construction or infrastructure projects.

This role is for IJM Building Systems Sdn Bhd specialises in high‑rise construction, offering integrated solutions from design to completion. It also advances automation and spun pile technology through the design, build, and installation of machinery for greater efficiency and performance.
Medical coverage: Up to RM2,000 (single) / RM4,000 (married), including optical, dental, chiropractic & TCM.
Annual Leave: 20 days for executive and above (with up to 5 days carry-forward).

Management & Operations Support Assist in monitoring the overall day-to-day business operations. Support the implementation of instructions and decisions issued by the Management Coordinate assigned management matters across relevant departments. Monitor the progress of important operational activities and highlight delays or issues. Provide timely updates to the Management on outstanding matters.
Cross-Department Coordination Liaise with departments including Administration, Finance, Purchasing, Project/Site, Safety, ISO/Quality and other functions as required. Facilitate communication between departments on matters involving multiple functions. Ensure relevant parties understand their responsibilities, required actions and deadlines. Follow up with responsible personnel to ensure agreed actions are completed. Assist in resolving communication gaps and coordination issues between departments.
Follow-Up & Action Tracking Maintain a systematic tracker for management instructions, action items, deadlines and outstanding issues. Follow up with responsible personnel on overdue or incomplete actions. Monitor the status of corrective actions until closure. Escalate unresolved or repeatedly delayed matters to the Operations Manager. Ensure important matters are not left unattended or without clear ownership.
Management Meeting Support Assist in preparing agendas, reports and supporting documents for management meetings. Coordinate information and updates from relevant departments. Record key decisions, responsibilities and deadlines where required. Maintain an action-item tracker following management meetings. Follow up with responsible parties and provide progress updates to the Management
Information & Reporting Collect and consolidate operational information from different departments. Assist in preparing management reports, operational updates and summaries. Verify that information received from departments is complete and timely. Highlight significant changes, delays, risks or issues requiring management attention. Maintain proper records of operational follow-ups and management decisions.
Project / Business Coordination Assist in coordinating cross-functional matters relating to ongoing projects and business activities. Follow up on matters involving project/site teams, purchasing, finance, administration, safety and other departments. Monitor key operational requirements such as manpower, materials, equipment, documentation, procurement and project support. Identify potential delays or resource conflicts and report them to the Operations Manager. Assist in coordinating timely solutions between relevant departments.
Works closely with: Director Department Heads Administration Finance / Accounts Purchasing / Procurement Project / Site Teams Safety ISO / Quality Human Resources, where applicable Other internal and external parties as assigned
Bachelor's Degree in Project Management, Business Administration, Supply Chain, or equivalent.
Minimum 5 years of relevant Project Management.
Previous experience in construction or High-rise building and infrastructure experience
Understanding of project management principles
Knowledge of industry procurement processes
Existing network of industry contacts
