Job summary

IJM Industry in Malaysia is seeking an Assistant Manager – Operations to support day-to-day operations and cross-functional coordination across departments. The role entails monitoring progress of operational activities, implementing management instructions, and ensuring timely updates to leadership.

The position targets individuals with strong project management background and exposure to construction or infrastructure projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field is required.
• At least 5 years of project management experience in construction or related industries.
• Good to have: experience in high-rise building and infrastructure projects; network of industry contacts.

Responsibilities

• Assist in monitoring day-to-day business operations and support implementation of management decisions.
• Coordinate across Administration, Finance, Purchasing, Project/Site, Safety, ISO/Quality and other functions.
• Maintain action trackers, ensure deadlines are met, and escalate issues to the Operations Manager.
• Prepare agendas, reports and documents for management meetings and track decisions.
• Collect and consolidate operational information for management reporting and summaries.
• Coordinate cross-functional matters related to ongoing projects and business activities.
