The Assistant Manager – Human Resources supports the execution of HR strategies and manages day-to-day HR operations to ensure efficient people processes, policy compliance, and a smooth employee lifecycle. This role focuses on operational excellence, talent acquisition support, and compensation & benefits administration.
Key Responsibilities
1. HR Operations & Employee Lifecycle
- Manage end-to-end employee lifecycle processes, including onboarding, confirmation, transfer, promotion, and separation.
- Ensure accurate maintenance of employee records, HR databases, and documentation.
- Review, implement, and improve HR policies, SOPs, and procedures to support operational efficiency.
- Provide HR operational support and guidance to line managers on HR processes and policies.
2. Recruitment & Talent Acquisition
- Support manpower planning and coordinate recruitment activities with hiring managers.
- Manage recruitment processes, including sourcing, screening, interviews, offers, and onboarding coordination.
- Support recruitment reporting, hiring metrics, and continuous improvement of recruitment processes.
- Coordinate with recruitment agencies and vendors where required.
- Coordinate payroll processes to ensure accuracy and timely submission (including liaison with payroll vendors or internal teams).
- Administer employee benefits, allowances, incentives, and claims in accordance with company policies.
- Support salary benchmarking, annual salary review, and bonus exercises.
- Maintain accurate compensation and benefits records.
- Identify training needs in collaboration with department heads.
- Coordinate internal and external training programmes and manage training logistics.
- Maintain training records and monitor training participation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Psychology, or related field.
- Professional HR certification (e.g. SHRM, CIPD, MIHRM) is an added advantage.
- Minimum 5–7 years of HR experience with strong exposure to HR operations, recruitment, and compensation & benefits.
- Prior experience in a senior HR executive or supervisory role is preferred.
- Strong understanding of HR operational processes and best practices.
- Detail-oriented with strong organisational and coordination skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- High level of integrity and confidentiality.
- Hands-on experience with HRIS and payroll systems is an advantage.
