Job summary

Cushman & Wakefield in Penang, Malaysia is seeking an Assistant Facilities Manager to support day-to-day operations at a campus-style facility. You will oversee janitorial, life-safety, engineering, site services and maintenance in line with client directives.

Role requires 3–5 years in commercial/industrial real estate facility management, plus a degree in a related field. CMMS/WO management experience and strong communication are valued, with leadership responsibility for high-performing teams.

Qualifications

• Higher qualification in Building/Facilities/Real Estate Management.
• 3–5 years experience in commercial/industrial real estate facility management.
• Experience in maintenance, construction, engineering and building operations.
• CMMS/Work Order Management experience preferred and knowledge of large-scale building systems.
• Excellent written and oral communication; multilingual preferred.
• Demonstrated leadership experience with high-performing teams.

Responsibilities

• Ensure day-to-day operations of facilities including janitorial, life-safety, engineering and site services per policy.
• Supervise maintenance programs for interior and exterior conditions.
• Respond to tenant requests and oversee contract programs to address needs.
• Compile site documentation and reports on time (Property Information Book, Operating Manuals, logs).
• Prepare budgets, financial reports, contracts, expenditures and purchase orders.
• Assist in developing five-year capital budget plans for the facility.
• Collect and analyze data to assess facility management objectives.
• Familiarize with management contracts and vendor agreements and requirements.
• Monitor insurance compliance and coordinate claims with tenants/vendors.
• Proactively inspect facilities and report findings to the Facility Manager.
