Job summary

Private Advertiser in Malaysia seeks an experienced Assistant Manager, Facilities to oversee the operation, maintenance and safety of buildings and infrastructure. The role focuses on coordinating contractors, monitoring preventive maintenance and ensuring cost‑effective, high‑quality services.

You will ensure statutory compliance and support emergency preparedness while managing multiple priorities with a proactive, organized approach and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in facilities management or related field.
• 5–8 years of relevant facilities, building or maintenance management experience.
• Experience supervising contractors and service providers.
• Knowledge of building maintenance, M&E systems and safety requirements.
• Strong leadership, communication, planning and problem‑solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily maintenance and upkeep of buildings and common areas.
• Plan and monitor preventive and corrective maintenance programmes.
• Coordinate repairs with minimal disruption to operations.
• Monitor mechanical, electrical, plumbing, cooling and fire safety systems.
• Inspect for defects, safety concerns and compliance.
• Manage contractors, cleaners, landscaping and security services.
• Track performance, schedules and quality of works.
• Maintain records of maintenance, inspections, licences and compliance.
• Support safety, security and emergency preparedness.
