Tentacle Tech is seeking an experienced AS/400 specialist to provide Level 2/3 support for trading applications. You will design modules using RPG and CL, perform OS upgrades, and manage LPAR configurations.
The role involves leading post-trade development, integrating legacy systems with modern platforms, and ensuring regulatory compliance across high-availability environments. Ideal candidates have 5+ years in financial services tech support, expert AS/400 skills, strong SQL and data mapping,
Provide Level 2/3 support for production incidents across multiple global sites
Design and maintain software modules using RPG (III, IV, Free Form) and CL
Perform OS upgrades, manage LPAR configurations, and handle patch management
Lead design and development of post-trade applications for trade matching, settlement, and payment processing
Integrate legacy AS/400 applications with modern platforms via APIs, web services, or middleware like IBM App Connect Enterprise or MQ
Ensure systems meet regulatory requirements for data integrity, security, and disaster recovery
Coordinate testing, deployment, and post-deployment verification of enhancements
5+ years of technical support experience with trading or financial services applications
Expert-level proficiency in implementing and managing AS400 systems
Advanced knowledge of DB2/400, complex SQL, and data mapping for financial transactions
Deep understanding of capital markets, custody, clearing, and post-trade settlement cycles
Experience with high-availability tools, backup/recovery, and performance tuning
Familiarity with SWIFT messaging standards and integration protocols like MQ
Strong problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills
