Job summary

Maybank Securities (MSSG) invites an experienced AS400 engineer to join our team in Malaysia, supporting post-trade back-office systems and driving process improvements.

You will design, develop, and maintain modules using RPG and CL, ensure system availability, and collaborate with global users to resolve issues.

This role requires 8+ years in technical support for financial services, deep DB2/400/SQL knowledge, and a proactive, team-oriented mindset.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of technical support for trading or financial services apps.
• Expert-level AS400 proficiency with DB2/400 and SQL.
• Understanding of capital markets, custody and post-trade cycles.
• Experience with high availability, backups and performance tuning.
• Familiarity with SWIFT and integration protocols like MQ.

Responsibilities

• Provide Level 2/3 support for production incidents across global sites.
• Design and maintain modules using RPG and CL.
• Perform OS upgrades, manage LPARs and patching for stability.
• Enhance AS400 by developing new processes and improving existing ones.
• Lead design of post-trade applications for matching, settlement and payments.
• Automate complex post-execution operations including trade booking.
• Integrate legacy AS/400 apps with modern platforms via APIs or MQ.
• Ensure regulatory data integrity, security hardening, and DR readiness.
• Coordinate testing, approval and deployment of enhancements.
• Generate reports and provide data analysis on request.
• Monitor performance and proactively address issues.
