Job summary

Luxoft is seeking an AS400-focused consultant in Kuala Lumpur to join a new technology centre for a major banking client. The role involves developing and enhancing Core Banking applications, with emphasis on Loans, Limits, Collateral, and provisioning systems using RPG and C.

You will support DevOps, deployment, and database activities within AS400/DB2 environments. The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of AS400 experience, hands-on RPG and C programming, and familiarity with Core Banking or

Responsibilities

• Develop, enhance, and support Core Banking applications on IBM i/AS400.
• Support loans, credit, and collateral systems in production environments.
• Participate in DevOps and deployment activities within AS400 environments.
• Analyze and troubleshoot AS400 database issues and batch processing.
• Provide testing support, SIT/UAT, and production issue resolution.
• Maintain technical and deployment documentation and coordinate with teams.

Our Client a leading bank in Asia with a global network of more than 500 branches and offices in 19 countries and territories in Asia Pacific, Europe, and North America, are looking for Consultants to be part of the project.

The Technology and Operations function is comprised of five teams of specialists with distinct capabilities: business partnership, technology, operations, risk governance, and planning support and services. They work closely together to harness the power of technology to support our physical and digital banking services and operations. This includes developing, centralising, and standardising technology systems as well as banking operations in Malaysia and overseas branches.

The client has more than 80 years of history in the banking industry and is expanding its footprint in Malaysia.

You will be working in a newly set-up technology centre located in Kuala Lumpur as part of Technology and Operations to deliver innovative financial technology solutions that enable business growth and technology transformation.

Responsibilities:

• 1. Application Development & Enhancement

  • Develop, enhance, and maintain Core Banking applications related to:
  • Loans & Credit
  • Limits Management
  • Collateral Management
  • Provisioning systems
  • Perform impact analysis and implement change requests and defect fixes.
  • Develop functionalities using:
  • RPG
  • C

• 2. Loans & Credit Systems Support

  • Support systems handling:
  • Retail and Wholesale lending products
  • Counterparty credit limits
  • Collateral lodgement and revaluation
  • IFRS9 and NPL provisioning calculations
  • Ensure application stability and operational continuity.

• 3. DevOps & Deployment Support

  • Support DevOps and deployment activities within AS400 environments.
  • Work with:
  • Rocket Aldon for deployment automation and migration
  • Support controlled deployment to test and production environments.

• 4. Database & Platform Support

  • Work with:
  • AS400/DB2 environments
  • Analyse and troubleshoot application and database issues.
  • Support batch processing and integration activities.

• 5. Testing & Production Support

  • Perform unit testing and support SIT/UAT activities.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and provide bug fixes.
  • Support post-deployment validation and production stabilization.

• 6. Documentation & Coordination

  • Maintain technical and deployment documentation.
  • Coordinate with business, testing, infrastructure, and support teams.

Mandatory Skills:
