Qualifications

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Software Engineer to join our Core Banking Technology team, supporting payment and remittance solutions on the AS400 platform.

The ideal candidate should possess strong technical expertise in RPG development, a good understanding of core banking payment systems, and experience delivering high-quality solutions in a regulated banking environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, implement, and support Core Banking applications on the AS400 platform.
• Develop and maintain Local Payment and Bill Payment functionalities while ensuring system stability, performance, and availability.
• Collaborate with Business Analysts, Solution Architects, QA teams, and project stakeholders to understand business requirements and deliver technical solutions.

Mandatory Technical Skills

• 6–9 years of hands‑on experience in AS400 application development.
• Strong development experience in RPG
• Good working knowledge of DB2 on AS400.
• Hands‑on experience with Local Payments and Bill Payment systems.
• Functional knowledge in either:
  • Cash Management / Rate Provision, or
  • GIRO and Instant Payment processing.
• Experience performing code reviews and ensuring compliance with coding standards.
• Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and analytical problem‑solving skills.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in Remittance applications.
• Exposure to DevOps practices and CI/CD implementation.
• Experience using ALDON for source code management and software deployment on AS400.
• Experience with ARCAD DevOps and application lifecycle management solutions.
• Knowledge of secure software development practices within banking environments.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Experience working in the banking or financial services industry.
• Good communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across technology and business teams.
