Job summary

MR DIY Malaysia is seeking a results-driven Regional Operations Manager to lead a portfolio of stores in Perak and surrounding areas, driving sales growth, profitability, and exceptional customer service. You will monitor performance, coach branch managers, ensure SOP compliance, and implement efficiency initiatives across merchandising, inventory, and loss prevention.

This role requires travel within the zone and strong analytical skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Business Management, Retail Management, Marketing, Operations Management, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in retail operations, preferably in a multi-store environment.
• Strong leadership and ability to drive operational performance.
• Knowledge of SOPs, compliance, and store standards.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Willing to travel within assigned zone.
• Proficient in analyzing sales reports and KPIs.

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee the performance of assigned stores to achieve sales, profitability, and customer service targets.
• Monitor and analyse store performance, KPIs, payroll budgets, and operating expenses to identify improvements.
• Conduct regular store visits to ensure compliance with SOPs, safety, and standards.
• Lead, coach, and develop Branch Managers to improve performance.
• Develop and implement strategies to enhance efficiency, sales, service, and loss prevention.
• Identify gaps and implement action plans to improve productivity and profitability.
• Ensure execution of marketing strategies and promotional campaigns across stores.
• Monitor inventory, stock levels, shrinkage, and procurement to prevent overstocking or understocking.
• Collaborate with departments to plan and monitor projects and initiatives.
• Prepare and present performance reports to Management with recommendations.

Job description

• Manage and oversee the performance of assigned stores to achieve sales, profitability, operational efficiency, and customer service targets.


• Monitor and analyse store performance, sales trends, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), manpower productivity, payroll budgets, and operating expenses to identify improvement opportunities and drive business performance.


• Conduct regular store visits to ensure compliance with company policies, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), operational standards, safety requirements, visual merchandising, cleanliness, service quality, and statutory regulations.


• Lead, coach, and develop Branch Managers by providing leadership, guidance, and direction to improve store performance and operational excellence.


• Develop and implement strategies and process improvements to enhance operational efficiency, sales performance, customer service, store security, and loss prevention.


• Identify operational gaps, business risks, and underperforming stores, and implement action plans to improve operational efficiency, productivity, profitability, and overall store performance.


• Ensure effective execution of marketing strategies, promotional campaigns, company initiatives, and operational projects across assigned stores.


• Monitor inventory management, stock availability, and loss prevention practices to maintain optimum stock levels, minimize shrinkage, and prevent overstocking or understocking.


• Monitor competitor activities, market trends, product and customer demand to identify business opportunities and support operational improvements.


• Collaborate with relevant departments to plan, implement, and monitor operational projects and business improvement initiatives.


• Prepare and present performance reports, including operational incidents, sales performance, high-loss areas, business updates, and recommendations to Management.


• Ensure all assigned stores comply with company policies, local authority regulations, statutory requirements, business licenses, control item licenses, permits, and other operational standards.


• Perform any other duties and responsibilities as assigned by Management from time to time.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Business Management, Retail Management, Marketing, Operations Management, or related field.


• Minimum 5 years of experience in retail operations, preferably in a multi-store environment.


• Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage store teams and drive operational performance.


• Strong knowledge of retail operations, SOP implementation, and compliance standards.


• Proven experience in driving sales performance, productivity, and cost efficiency.


• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify gaps and implement improvements.
