Job summary

KRD Design & Manufacturing SDN BHD in Ipoh, Perak, is seeking an Architectural Draftsman to translate architectural concepts into precise technical drawings and documentation for construction and manufacturing workflows.

You will create detailed CAD drawings using AutoCAD, SketchUp and Photoshop, ensure compliance with building codes, coordinate with managers and clients, and maintain organized records for multiple projects.

Qualifications

• Certificate, Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Architectural Design or related field.
• Proficiency in CAD software AutoCAD, SketchUp, Photoshop or similar programs.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to produce accurate technical drawings.
• Solid understanding of architectural drawing standards and building codes.
• Strong communication skills to work with managers and clients.
• Experience with both commercial and residential projects is a plus.
• Knowledge of Malaysia’s local building regulations is beneficial.
• Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.

About the role

We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Architectural Draftsman to join KRD Design & Manufacturing Sdn Bhd. This is a full-time position based in Ipoh, Perak, where you will play a crucial role in translating architectural concepts and designs into precise technical drawings and documentation. As an Architectural Draftsman, you will be essential to our design and manufacturing process, ensuring that all architectural plans meet industry standards and client specifications.

What you'll be doing

• Prepare and draft detailed architectural drawings, blueprints or related technical documentation using CAD software and other design tools
• Convert architectural sketches and concepts into accurate scaled drawings for construction
• Ensure all drawings comply with relevant building codes, standards, regulations, requirements and specifications
• Revise and update drawings based on feedback from project managers and clients
• Maintain accurate project records and maintain organised filing systems for all design documents
• Prepare presentation drawings and visualisations for client meetings and proposals

What we’re looking for

• Certificate, Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Architectural Design or related field
• Proficiency in industry-standard CAD software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Photoshop or similar programmes
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to produce accurate technical drawings
• Solid understanding of architectural design principles, architectural drawing standards, building codes and construction practices
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work independently based on project manager and clients' requirements
• Experience in both commercial and residential architectural projects is advantageous
• Knowledge of local building regulations and planning requirements in Malaysia is beneficial
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
• Basic proficiency in English and Bahasa Melayu
• Proficiency in Mandarin is highly advantageous/preferred to liaise with Mandarin-speaking clients
