Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Application Sales Engineer role based in Perai. The Application Sales Engineer will work closely with customers to understand technical and operational requirements, propose suitable test and process solutions, and support equipment selection for electronics manufacturing and laboratory environments. Responsibilities include preparing quotations, technical proposals, and product presentations, conducting demonstrations of new and used equipment, and coordinating with suppliers and internal technical consultants to ensure solution feasibility. The role involves managing the sales cycle from lead generation through closing, maintaining relationships with existing clients, and providing after-sales support and basic application training. The Application Sales Engineer will also monitor market trends, provide feedback to improve offerings, and contribute to continuous enhancement of customer experience.

Qualifications

• Strong technical aptitude in electronics manufacturing, test, process, or laboratory equipment, with the ability to interpret technical specifications and application requirements.


• Experience in technical sales, application engineering, or customer-facing engineering roles, including solution proposal and basic cost/ROI analysis.


• Effective communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly to diverse stakeholders.


• Ability to build and maintain long-term customer relationships and collaborate with internal teams, suppliers, and partners.


• Good problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a proactive, service-oriented mindset.


• Comfort with on-site customer visits, fieldwork within the region, and occasional travel as required.


• Proficiency in standard office and productivity software; familiarity with CRM tools is an advantage.


• Diploma or degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field is preferred; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of formal qualifications.


• Previous experience in CEM/EMS, ODM, OEM, or related electronics manufacturing environments is an added advantage.
