Job summary

DHL Global Forwarding is seeking a Flight Operations Specialist based in USJ, Selangor to own complex air charter operations from planning to post-flight closure. You will coordinate stakeholders, optimise capacity and load planning, and drive on-time, compliant flights within a fast-paced aviation and logistics environment.

Job description

Take ownership of complex air charter operations from take-off to touchdown. As a Flight Operations Specialist, you will be at the heart of our dedicated charter operations, orchestrating every detail to ensure flights are safe, compliant, commercially sound and delivered on time. You’ll coordinate key stakeholders, optimise capacity and load planning, manage critical operational milestones, and take the lead when challenges arise. Key Responsibilities

Operational Control & Flight Execution

• Manage the end-to-end charter operation lifecycle from planning through post-flight closure.
• Ensure all charter flights depart and arrive according to planned schedule.
• Lead daily flight readiness reviews.
• Serve as operational escalation point during disruptions.
• Coordinate recovery plans for offloads, delays, cancellations and contingencies.
• Approve final operational readiness before flight departure.

Capacity & Revenue Management

• Monitor weekly charter utilization.
• Review load factors, payload optimization and booking fulfillment.
• Drive maximum aircraft utilization while maintaining customer commitments.
• Coordinate with commercial teams on booking prioritization and cargo allocation.
• Identify risks to revenue or profitability.

Load Planning & ULD Management

• Review and approve final load plans.
• Ensure compliance with aircraft limitations and airline requirements.
• Monitor ULD availability, positioning and inventory.
• Establish contingency plans for ULD shortages.
• Ensure safe and correct build-up standards.

Compliance & Documentation

Ensure accuracy of:

• MAWB / HAWB
• Cargo Manifest
• DG Documentation
• FWB/FHL Messages
• AMS / ACAS Filings
• Security Requirements
• Maintain audit-ready operational records.

Performance Management

Monitor and report:

• Load Factor %
• Flight Fulfilment %
• OTP %
• Revenue per Flight
• Gross Profit per Flight
• ULD Utilization
• Cargo Offload Rate
• Operational Service Failures

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in any field
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Freight Forwarding industry, experience in Air Freight charter and capacity utilization will be an added advantage.
• Negotiation and interpersonal skills
• Proficiency in Communication – Written & Spoken English
• Customer-facing and interaction skills
• Strong negotiation, conflict resolution, and stakeholder communication skills.
• This position is to be based at USJ, Selangor.
