We are looking for a responsible and motivated Accounts Assistant / Accounts Executive to support the Accounts Manager in the day-to-day accounting and finance functions.
This position is suitable for fresh graduates and junior accounting candidates who are looking to gain practical, hands-on experience in accounting and finance. The successful candidate will work closely with the Accounts Manager and assist in ensuring that accounting activities are carried out accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Accounts Manager in daily accounting and finance matters.
- Handle data entry and maintain proper accounting records and supporting documents.
- Assist with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR).
- Process and verify supplier invoices, subcontractor claims, staff claims, payment vouchers, and other accounting documents.
- Assist with bank reconciliations, monthly closing, accounting schedules, and financial reports.
- Maintain supplier and customer account records and follow up on outstanding matters when required.
- Assist in monthly closing and preparation of accounting schedules.
- Assist in monitoring project costs, expenditures, budgets, progress claims, payment certificates, and variation orders.
- Assist in preparing documents and supporting schedules for audit and tax purposes.
- Assist with audit, tax, SST, e-Invoice, and other statutory or accounting matters.
- Liaise with internal departments, suppliers, subcontractors, customers, banks, auditors, and tax agents on accounting-related matters.
- Provide general administrative and accounting support to the Accounts Manager.
- Maintain proper filing and documentation of financial records and perform other accounting-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
- Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Minimum 1-2 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably with experience in a senior or supervisory accounting role.
- Good understanding of accounting principles, double-entry bookkeeping, and financial reporting.
- Experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, payment processing, bank reconciliation, and accounting entries.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of accounting software will be an added advantage.
- Good analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
- Able to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
- Good communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia, both written and spoken.
- Good interpersonal skills and able to work effectively with internal departments, management, and external parties.
