Job summary

KalYX Consultants Sdn. Bhd. in Penang seeks an experienced Accounting Team Lead to supervise 3 executives and oversee full-set accounting, monthly closings, and client communications. You will ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with e-Invoice requirements while guiding junior staff.

Strong leadership, diligence, and client-facing skills are essential to drive high-quality management reporting and process improvements.

Qualifications

• Diploma / Degree / Professional Qualification in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• Relevant accounting experience, preferably with experience handling full sets of accounts.
• Prior supervisory or team-leading experience is an advantage.
• Good knowledge of AP, AR, GL, bank reconciliation and month-end closing.
• Able to prepare and review management accounts.
• Familiar with Malaysian accounting and e-Invoice requirements.
• Experience with accounting software will be an advantage.
• Able to communicate professionally with clients.
• Strong follow-up, problem-solving and organisational skills.
• Able to work independently and manage deadlines.
• Detail-oriented with a strong sense of responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a team of 3 Accounting Executives.
• Allocate, monitor and review the team’s daily work.
• Ensure daily, monthly and year-end accounting tasks are completed accurately and on time.
• Review bookkeeping, AP, AR, bank reconciliations and general ledger.
• Review monthly management accounts and supporting schedules.
• Monitor cash-flow reporting and payment preparation processes.
• Oversee e-Invoice administration and accounting compliance matters.
• Review unusual, incomplete or outstanding transactions and ensure proper follow-up.
• Coordinate with clients on accounting matters, documentation and outstanding issues.
• Ensure important matters are highlighted to clients on a timely basis.
• Maintain proper segregation of duties and internal controls.
• Coordinate year-end closing, audit schedules and audit queries.
• Support consolidation and management reporting where required.
• Ensure proper documentation, filing and audit trail.
• Coach and guide junior team members.
