TBMC Development Sdn. Bhd. in Sabah invites a diligent accounting professional to manage the full set of accounts, including GL, AP, AR, and cash book, and to post journal entries for accruals and depreciation.
You will maintain the general ledger and chart of accounts, process supplier and customer transactions, perform monthly bank reconciliations, and assist in audits, tax, and compliance, contributing to timely financial reporting.
Handle full set of accounts including General Ledger (GL), AP, AR, and cash book.
Record and post journal entries for accruals, prepayments, depreciation, and adjustments.
Maintain and ensure accuracy of the general ledger and chart of accounts.
Ensure all transactions are properly recorded and updated in the accounting system.
Verify supplier invoices against purchase orders and supporting documents.
Process supplier payments and prepare payment vouchers accurately and on time.
Maintain and update AP aging reports and monitor outstanding payable.
Liaise with suppliers and internal departments to resolve discrepancies.
Issue invoices, credit notes, and receipts accurately and in a timely manner.
Monitor customer accounts and maintain AR aging reports.
Follow up on overdue payments and support collection activities.
Coordinate with Sales, Operations, or Property teams on billing and collection matters.
Perform monthly bank reconciliation and ensure all transactions are properly recorded.
Reconcile supplier statements, customer accounts, and petty cash.
Investigate and resolve discrepancies between accounting records and bank statements.
Prepare full set financial statements including Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow Statement.
Prepare monthly management reports and financial summaries for management review.
Ensure timely month-end and year-end closing activities are completed.
Ensure all journals and adjustments are posted before reporting deadlines.
Perform variance analysis and provide explanations for financial movements.
Maintain fixed asset register including acquisition, disposal, and depreciation.
Ensure proper capitalization and classification of company assets.
Assist in stock or inventory reconciliation if applicable.
Assist in both internal and external audit processes by preparing audit schedules and documentation.
Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards (MFRS).
Liaise with auditors, tax agents, and banks when required.
Support preparation of tax-related schedules and statutory reporting.
Maintain proper filing system for all financial documents (physical and digital).
Support finance department in ad-hoc analysis, reporting, and administrative tasks.
Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Perform other duties as assigned by management from time to time.
Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
1–3 years of relevant experience (audit firm experience is an advantage).
Strong understanding of full set accounting and financial reporting principles.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (AutoCount, SQL, UBS, or similar).
Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and responsibility.
Good analytical and numerical skills.
Able to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
Good communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia; Mandarin is an advantage.
Able to work independently with minimal supervision and also in a team environment.
